Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

My nephew (soph) is killin it in OH HS 165...
so I noticed Brody Conley, Tiffen who won 165 last year.. wrestling 175 this year.. at least 111 straight wins.. 53-0 this year and has pinned everyone in the state tourney.. with championship today !?!?!?!
He beat the #1 ranked 175 in the nation... and I see WV signed him !?!?!
looks like the kid entered another tourney as a 215 just for shits-and-giggles I guess and won that too

Some recent info on our signees and potential signees...

Feldman (Malvern Prep) and the Bouzakis brothers (Wyoming Seminary) are banned by the PIAA from competing in the state tournament because they attend prep schools. Feldman won the National Prep School Championship by a Tech Fall. Rocco Welsh did wrestle in the state tourney and was dominant, tech falling every opponent on the way to the title. By the accounts I read this was a "man among boys". And Vinny Kilkeary also took state at 120#... beating another Buckeye commit Kam Williams in the semis... and should fit in seamlessly when Malik's eligibility expires in 2023-24. Vinny is different style-wise from Malik in that he won't get pushed around. Kinda like he could be Kharchla's little bro. Speaking of "little" bros, Sonny Sasso also won state (with Tom Ryan watching). Sonny seems to emulate Sammy at times, but he's much taller and heavier. Definitely worth Ryan's attention.

Can't wait to get all these guys in next year. We've had several high ranked recruits not pan out recently, but I don't see that happening with this class overall. Especially Feldman, I actually hope Gable Steveson hangs around at the college level next year to see those two go because I've got a feeling those two are going to be competitive for years to come. Just kind of a year we had to just push through and who knows, maybe some guys pull it together next week and get on the podium. We've done it before.

Ohio's final Round was tonight. Luke Geog, Seth Shumate, and Gavin Brown are Buckeye recruits that won titles tonight. Geog won 10-0 dec., Shumate won 7-4 over the same guy who beat him in districts, and Brown won a 3-2 dec. Another note of interest is that fprmer Buck Jacob Decatur won the 125 championship for Baldwin-Wallace in D3.

3 for 3, gotta love it. Also saw our football commit Josh Padilla take runner up, pretty impressive. As for potential recruits, from Graham that Beric Jordan is a chainsaw and must get. Finished out a 48-0 year to win another state title with a fall as a sophomore.

Kaleb Romero had a good draw. His opponent (Indiana) looked like he had breakfast at the same restaurant as Ethan Smith and Malik Heinselman.
Romero almost got the fall and ended up with a major dec. Hoffman also won a come from behind last second decision.

The Men's team does a great job with their Twitter updates so I'll try to post when able;

Malik loses 7-2 to Lamont out of UVU, sounds like you were right about your assessment on him RB

Dylan just starting up

Lamont is a stud, just an awful draw and no idea how he was seeded that low. Still, that's a ratchet performance. Then Dylan loses? Yikes. Going even worse than expected so far.
