Scout $ - Is Bobek In Buckeye Plans For 2011?

By Bill Greene
Posted Oct 28, 2009

Bobeks season is going well and his team is undefeated. He's interested and hearing from the Bucks (Bollman and Doc), Notre Dame, and Sparty. He camped at TOSU and has sent the coaches film. Currently he's a 3.4 student but he hasn't taken the ACT yet.

Scout $ - Bobek Lands First Offer
By Bill Greene
Posted Feb 12, 2010

Bobek showed out at the Army combine, posting the top vertical of the interior OL (32 inches) as well as top bench (38 reps) out of ALL the OL... Still on for this Purdue & OSU visits plus he has invites to visit scUM & Michigan St... Calls himself a fan of the Big Ten, saying he'd love to play in the conference... Camped at OSU in '09 & Tressel gave him a tour of campus...

OG-Walker

OT-???

could be a good OLine haul this year

Carter doesn't have an offer yet, officially. We'll see if that happens. Maybe Walker can play RT if he gets his body under control and exchanges a lot of his weight with "good weight." I still see him as a RG.

Bobek though is a perfect heir apparent to Brewster. He is strong as an ox, and SMART kid, and with a year behind Brew he may start as a Soph... if Mewhort moves to Guard. Anyway, I can't wait to bring Brian into the fold.

Couple things...Brew could eye the NFL with a good season and as of now, Jack looks good at center, but I digress. It seems that Bobek is stoked about the offer. I would be surprised if we didn't land him.

He very well could, and if Brew does go pro then Mewhort most definitely stays at Center. I was just pointing out Mewhort's versatility. Jack could also slide to RT if Shugarts goes pro too.

Brewster isn't leaving early, and interior linemen doing so is extraordinarily rare. OSU has done nicely with two starter-quality centers in the past and could do so again with Mike & Jack and then Jack & Brian.
