OL Brian Bobek (Iowa St grad transfer from Minnesota)

He very well could, and if Brew does go pro then Mewhort most definitely stays at Center. I was just pointing out Mewhort's versatility. Jack could also slide to RT if Shugarts goes pro too.

Brewster's going nowhere next year. It doesn't make any sense for him....he will be back in S&G for his senior season.....

As for the offer to Brian, color me excited. Seems to fit the frame of guys we wants playing on the O-line for us. Comes from a good school, and is great academically. Sounds like a terrific recruit to me.

Rivals $ - Buckeyes waste no time offering Bobek

Bobek received word from Bollman today that an offer is on the way... He grew up a fan of the BigTen in general... He & his parents are impressed with the staff, their values, & the entire program... He wants to take a few more visits & make a decision "fairly quickly"... It's clear OSU is his leader at this point...

Another kid, like Gambrell, whose offer sheet doesn't match some others yet but will eventually once word and film get circulated even wider...

College coaches are like 7th and 8th grade girls. Once OSU offers others will flock. Its a testament to their evaluation process.

Scout $ - Decision Soon For Bobek?

2/17

By Trieu...his father says the OSU staff watched his son's film the closest of any staff and also took time to evaluate his son as a person...his father says they are not looking to drag out the process and they are looking for the best place for their son to spend four years.

Don't expect this to go on past March unless his offer sheet goes uber-national...

More new 2011 offers

Center Brian Bobek was offered after visiting this past weekend. He is a rising star after leading the national junior combine in bench press reps and in vertical jump. That shows a strong explosive player. His family has connections to Iowa, both parents being grads, but I have some real insight into this one. I have reason to believe the Buckeyes are going to be hard to beat on this one. I think we see a verbal sooner rather than later. He is an impressive drive blocker on film. Stays low, fires out and keeps his feet. Plays to the whistle. His offer list is going to cause some questions to arise. I don't know if there is anyone who has been more critical of Bollman than me but I have to give him credit for being really good at finding and developing centers.
