People to Punch, Pet Peeves, and General Vexations (mega-merge)

I don't remember the last time I got any traffic or parking violation. I did get my garage broken in to, though. The cops got the guy. 1 week later he's standing on a corner with a "Need help, God Bless" sign begging for money. I really thought he'd be, you know, in the system for committing a crime. Silly me. The government has to pursue those wicked people who haven't committed any crime to prove they had insurance on a random date!!

Waste of taxpayer money. Pisses me off further when you have to drive a goddamned obstacle course avoiding the fucking potholes in every road MANY FROM LAST YEAR.

Nah, nothing to be pissed off at here. Good call. Move along.

I’d like to kick my neighbor straight in the nuts and shoot his 2 fucking Chows. I am so sick and tired of them coming after my dog when we’re out for walks. Happened again tonight for the umpteenth time and I had to get them apart while he stand back by the house and yells at them.

He doesn’t always have them tied up and when he doesn’t he has no control of them. They come out after anyone going by, dog or no dog. You think the guy would know better by now, especially with his wife being a County judge.
Feed them anti-freeze. Not the chows, the neighbor and the judge.

Well, I called the BMV. They had a much more reasonable tone. The letter was from a third-party vendor. The lady on the phone said it sounded like a 2nd request. I told her I never received a first one and she said that seemed to be common. I just need to send a copy of my insurance card that covers that day to them in an email. That's all I was looking for.

She was kind of taken aback that they were so threatening about it. She told me she received several reports of the same nature over the last week. She's reporting it to her superiors, FWIW.

On the pet peeves soapbox: fucking browsers. JFC, can't the major browser players get together and get shit straight?
  • MS Edge can't even reach BP while Chrome and Firefox have zero issues.
  • Firefox has no way to clear your SSL cache (no problem for 98% of users, but those on DoD networks need this because we log in with Common Access Cards).
  • Can get to Facebook with Edge and Chrome, but Firefox says "The owner of www.facebook.com has configured their website improperly" (yeah, I'm sure a multi-billion dollar website is improperly secured) and refuses to connect because FF "uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely" despite the fact I'm specifying HTTPS.

I’ll add Explorer. Half the shit I do at work won’t work on it, I have to use Mozilla. And even in some programs, certain tabs and buttons won’t work in it.

i.e., fuck IE

People who send pointless emails. I'm not talking about spam or even simple emails that say "thank you". The spam is at least an attempt by someone to sell me something, and the "thank you" email at least confirms that the other guy got the attachment I sent, or whatever. I'm talking about when a customer sends an email to me and to the saleswoman here. I can read that it's a question that she's not going to be able to answer. So I start looking into it. Within a minute of the customer's email, the saleswoman forwards it to me, asking if I can answer it. I used to respond, "I'm working on it," but she'd just respond, "thanks!" So, anyway, I get the answer and reply to everyone. She then forwards the email to everyone on the email chain that my answer is below. Can't she tell that I just sent that email to everyone?
I found out that if I just take her name off my emails, she never follows up to make sure that I'm responding to the customers.
