Pirates looking like the Indians out there

Please...the Pirates mastered the "bases loaded, no outs, no runs" inning over a decade ago. The Indians are amateurs.

The 70's = 2 World Championships

Yep. John W Galbreath ran the team from Columbus from 1950-1985 and he took them to the top of the league. Don't forget they won the World Series in 1960 (Mazeroski, Clemente, and Friend) and had the most Eastern Division titles prior to 1995. The Columbus Jets were the Pirates AAA team, so you saw lots of the players coming up the ranks.

Clemente joined the Pirates on the Monday after Ohio State beat TSUN on the way to the 1954 national championship. Stargell joined in 1962 and by the middle of the 60s, one or both featured in the All-Star game every year. Matty Alou was exciting to watch. Even though they usually placed third during the decade, except for a couple of years, they were in with a chance.

I miss that. Now, the only question is whether they will avoid last place.

Pirates bullpen making it interesting - of course - as LA gets three to make it 8-5 after seven. Always love when a RP starts an inning with a walk and a beanball.

Ryan Doumit takes George Sherrill yard to make it 11-5.

Eleven runs is the most the Pirates have ever scored in a home opener, that's over 100 years of baseball folks.

Bucs win, 11-5, for their 4th straight opening day victory...proving that there are still 161 games left to play.

Garrett Jones hit another HR

3 run shot off of Kershaw in the 1st inning

3-0 Pirates bottom 2nd

I might bandwagon the Pirates this year, since the Indians bring nothing to cheer about

Bucs win 4-3 in extra innings to go to 2-0.

Don't laugh, they were 2-9 in extra inning games last season. They're 1-0, already. :wink2:
