Pirates tidbits (2012 season)

A rare series win in Milwaukee capped off by a 6-5 win in the rubber match. The Bucs are now 18-2 when they score 4 or more runs, 27-26 overall.

Bucs take 2 of 3 from the Reds again, this time in Cincinnati. At 29-27 thru 56 games that's probably about as good as could reasonably be expected to this point, with this team.

The next two weeks are against the AL, starting with the Royals.

Pirates 4, Royals 2

Bucs get off to a good start against KC as Hanrahan nails down another save. :pirate1:

McCutcheon goes yard, Burnett wins his 5th straight and Grilli saves it as Hanrahan rested, 3-2.

The sweep of the Royals puts the Bucs 5 games over .500, a season high, as they're 12-3 the last 15 games. :pirate2:

Not getting my hopes up.

Oh hell no, not with over 100 games left. As we saw last year, things can go to shit in a hurry. That's why I enjoy the good runs while they last, hoping they'll continue but not expecting it.

I won't truly believe there's a chance until they're over .500 halfway through September. Haven't seen that in 2 decades.

So, Starling Marte is a heck of a player.

Just a really good ballplayer. I hear he'll be up in late June after his Super-2 eligibility (or something) is up. Him and 'Cutch in the outfield=no hits. And the kid is good with the stick too.
