Premier League (Official Thread)

Wow, Sir Alex said he decided to retire around Christmas. That's a long time to keep that a secret.

Since Ferguson confirmed Sunday that Wayne Rooney asked for a transfer and wasn't keen to play Sunday, ship him out of England (and I imagine they will, rather than shipping him to Chelsea).

Would Chelsea even want him?

Anzhi or Zenit could splash that kind of cash. I'd LMAO.

Have you noticed all those people who take the cash in Russia want out of there within one season? Some of them last half a season and scream for a transfer.

Although, it'd be 500x worse if Rooney was of African descent (in Russia).

Wigan down.

They've flirted with going down for the past few seasons. It's really up to Martinez whether or not he wants to stay with the club and try to go immediately back up.

With the announcement of a new 30-minute daily show on ESPN2 called "ESPNFC" and a one-hour Sunday show, I might relax my self-ban of all ESPN non-game content. But if it becomes Alexi Lalas trying to troll every single day, then I'll stop watching.

But ESPN's coverage of the sport -- just the sport -- doesn't involve a lot of trolling like the other shows. Probably because it's mostly Euros.

Very similar to Birmingham City a couple years ago when they won the Carling Cup and were relegated.

If they lose Martinez, Wigan could have a difficult time getting back up.

Villa safe though for another season and that's all that matters to me.

Good finish to the day.

I thought it would've been a stretch for Newcastle to get a win over the Gunners with the form they (Newcastle) were in going into the match.

I was boucing between Aresenal, Chelsea, and Spurs and missed the Newcastle red card..was it earned? Was it a second yellow or straight red?

There wasn't a red card for Newcastle. Sunderland had one on a second yellow, but the Jordies didn't get one.

On a side note, I don't like England's Nike kit, but I'm nostalgic and always associate England with Umbro. But it's the price of business (Nike's bigger than Umbro).
