QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Maybe Urban got irate over "CameraManGate" in order to set a precedent for sitting JT against Bucky.
I don't feel confident with JT in there. He holds on to the ball too long, fires fastballs out wide to guys who get tackled right away, underthrows deep balls....even his TD to Baugh was a technically bad throw (it was a high laser that Baugh snagged rather than a perfectly placed lead pass). That's before we even talk about how many damn times he runs the ball.

Which many times JT running the ball was a "good thing" (i.e. significant gain, 1st down, and/or TD). A few examples (just in the 2nd quarter) below:

3rd and 3 at MICH 37
(11:45 - 2nd) J.T. Barrett run for 5 yds to the Mich 32 for a 1ST down

3rd and 9 at MICH 21
(9:50 - 2nd) J.T. Barrett run for 21 yds for a TD, (Sean Nuernberger KICK)

2nd and 8 at OSU 49
(6:30 - 2nd) J.T. Barrett run for 26 yds to the Mich 25 for a 1ST down

He showed the heart of a champion several times during the game, especially spinning away from Gary to get the extra few yards for a first down on a crucial third down during OSU’s first scoring drive.

That said, he does and always will have throwing limitations, and with a bum knee that is even more apparent.

Ohio State is a little too one dimensional, QB run reliant for my taste, especially going up against an elite team/defense.

If the offense is in a groove and establishes momentum and the run game it is manageable- if the offense is being shut down and we’re in a hole on the scoreboard, it has the makings of another Clemson/Oklahoma/Iowa nightmare.

Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett probable for Big Ten championship against Wisconsin

Ohio State expects to have its starting quarterback back for the Big Ten championship against Wisconsin.

Head coach Urban Meyer said redshirt senior J.T. Barrett “moved into probable” for Saturday night’s matchup, though he did not practice on Sunday. Barrett was injured with six minutes remaining in the third quarter of Ohio State’s 31-20 win against Michigan two days ago and did not return.

Say what you will, but what I saw from the stands was a lot of WRs not getting free. He should have tucked and run when he could have, but the sacks were largely coverage sacks.

Yeah they had good coverage all game and JT had 2 drops by WRs that could have been for sizeable gains (especially the one to Terry).

It'll be interesting to see what the game plan is considering we will now always be inside or in a warm weather area. This offense is built for warm weather and that's why you always see a loss in late season cold or rainy games.

The offense normally goes from being balanced to being run heavy in the later part of the season. However going into the dome the whole playbook is now open.

If the big ten conference game was outside I would say it would benefit Wisconsin big but being inside gives us a big advantage IMO

3-8 30 yards.

6-7 94 yards.

Just saying. We don't win The Game if JT finishes it.

Scum came out with a very unexpected defensive gameplan, but our coaches had it figured out by the 2nd half, and scum never made any adjustments to what we had success with. Bad execution kept us from really blowing it open before half time, and Barretts injury tightened up the playbook in the 2nd half. If that hadn't happened, or if they had a little more faith in Haskins on first and second, it probably would have been more like 45-20. But scum was using an unusual coverage on early downs, and Haskins may have not had much experience with it. Who knows.

We were also given a gift on our second TD that ichigans DB dropped a pretty bad throw right in his hands.

I'm guessing JT Barrett did that by design.
"Alright, guys, here's the play where we make the Michigan fans momentarily really excited and then immediately very angry. Hey Billy, do me a favor and fart on the ball so when I throw it the fart sticks to the defensive back, just to give him something extra to think about for the rest of his life."

"I had the ball in my hands! We were winning 14-0 and I had it in my hands. Then I dropped it and we gave up a score right after that. And I'm sure it's just my imagination, but I just smelled shit for the rest of the afternoon."

Well, we also gave them a gift TD by allowing a punt return all the way to the 10, tacking on a penalty to give 1st and G at the 5. And, I do believe you're talking about our first TD as the play before this one:

was the drop.

You'll note Barrett scored from 21 yards out. It was clearly a gift TD.

Didn't read back too far, but no one is re-mentioning KJ Hill stepping out of bounds on his own volition on his otherwise-TD run in the 4th, which led to the missed FG. If he remains 6 more inches inside we're up 31-20 even before the subsequent-drive TD by Weber.

Because I don't think that he stepped out of bounds on this own volition? I think that he had some momentum in that direction as well as some help if we're thinking about the same play. But, all things considered, that would have been a back breaker for sure.

He was in the late process of straightening out when his foot barely touched the sideline...his next step was a good six inches inside the sideline. I just think he misjudged how close he was...
