QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

I think we will really miss his short yardage running, but if his downfield throws were just a little more consistent then the offense would be unstoppable.
If his down field passing were even above average yesterday, we would've won by at least 3TDs! Dixon should've scored on a deep ball, McLaurin should've scored on a deep ball and JK should've scored on the screen... Im happy for the win, but my god that forcing of the vertical passing game was brutal

He missed like 8-10 of those deep throws. It was so forced and might be the reason this team couldn't make a statement last night. 8-10 more combined touches for Parris Campbell, Dobbins, KJ Hill, and/or Weber could have been the difference between winning by 6 and blowing the doors off Wisconsin.

A dominate win didn't even need to be 17+ points. Controlling the 4th quarter by marching down the field would have made them look that much better. Don't need to win by big throws, large chunk plays of 10-15 yards would have made us look impressive.

It’s almost like the guy has earned the right to have OSU fans get off his ass about his weakness and respect his strengths

Literally the worst ranking he could have is the second best ever in school history, and that requires some rosy gloss overs for 3 separate years of Troy's career.

Yeah didn't like some comments about him I saw on another site during the game. No one is perfect, JT has been frustrating at times, but he has earned nothing but respect. An OSU great!
I think many of us are giving him respect. And also being realistic in admitting his has MAJOR flaws and last night was a major talent gap between the 2 teams and he flat out held the offense back at times with absolutely erratic throws that should've made the game not nearly as close. All those shiney awards don't mean a damn thing if he can't hit open WRs in space behind defenses. And the JK pass on 3rd down was just god awful like @lvbuckeye stated. Those awards don't gloss over that. Ive defended him constantly, and still do, and dont want him benched, but my god is here frustrating to watch in this offense at times

I give him a pass last night cause he was 6 days off of surgery and I'm not sure I've ever seen him miss that many wide open throws before. It was bad and it might have cost us the CFP and almost cost us the game. It was also probably a preview of what we wI'll try to do on offense next year.

I hear you on the pass. But I doubt he's making many of those throws healthy or not. And his surgery wasn't on his arm... He would've hit a few, but I'm doubting he's hitting them consistently, even with a healthy knee behind those throws. And I hope this is what we will see next year because we have a QB on the roster behind him who can actually hit these passes. I hope to see JT go out on top with a W against USC and see him ride off into the sunset as one of the OSU greats(though his legacy will be argued for generations)

It was more about properly stepping into them because he doesn't have the type of arm he can make throws with all arm. But yes evidence over the years points to him maybe hitting 2 or 3 more of the throws on average.

He’s got one game left.

His limitations are obvious to anyone with eyes.

I choose to focus on all he’s accomplished.

I need one more day to get to that point.

I re watched the game today and almost had a heart attack watching some of those throws.

Glad JT has a very good chance of ending his career with a W unlike his chances if they would have gotten into the playoff.
My thoughts exactly
