A great leader isn't laughing on the sideline in the 4th quarter after he led the offense to yet another 3 and out while the team is down 2 scores. I lost a lot of respect for him after seeing that.

This bugged the hell out of me. How can you be joking around on the sidelines with the performance the offense and yourself has put out there? You should be talking to the coaches, talking to your receivers, figuring out how to make things work. Show some focus, show some fire. Joe does not have that fire.

I'm betting the Baus has a monster game this weekend and puts this entire discussion to bed (until he struggles at home against Colorado). I'm looking for 15-23 passing, 2 TD's and 210 yards while only playing about 65% of the snaps.

After 2-14 passing, 0 TD's and 13 yards passing perhaps it is time to accept Joe for who he is rather than who we want him to be? I have no doubt he's a great kid, but he's a career back up QB with no evidence to support the optimism some have in him.

I would've loved to have seen him torch Toledo and light up Miami, but it didn't happen. It is unlikely to happen in the future, either.

I'll take Joe's "off" day today.

A blocked punt, missed FG, fumble while we're driving and killing the clock, Stoney's dropped 4th down catch while driving, shitty tackling on quick hits, plus numerous other plays resulted in a very piss poor performance today. I don't think Joe was the main reason.

How do you feel about 2/14 for 13 yards, -3 yards rushing, and a L?

Like a said before, we didn't know what kind of game the Toledo game was. It's actually looking like a good day, not an "off" day.

Does not have the skill set to be a division 1 QB. I'm not sure he's a back up at this point.

Not going back to see, but I believe I said that Joe is the better option (or maybe I was just thinking it while reading posts). I am now firmly in the camp that he is NOT the better option. I was at the game, and haven't watched it on my DVR yet, but from where I sat it appeared Joe missed wide open receivers on the plays he threw it away. One play that really stood out was in the second half, when he rolled right he had Fields for about 13 yds wide open and right in front of him, and there was nobody between Fields and the end-zone, yet he throws it into the stands. That one play told me that Joe just doesn't have what it takes to be a starting QB in Div I football. He got scared and took the "safe" way out.

Love to see that he stuck it out for a few years, but I think his big chance has come and gone, and, unfortunately, he did not make the most of it.

Bauserman seems like he has a strong arm, but he needs to have a lot of time to step into it. <meaning: not during a game>

Bauserman does not read defenses well at all....after 4 or 5 years in the program, that is inexcuseable

Bauserman is so afraid of making a mistake, that he refuses to make a play

Bauserman is very indecisive on where/when to throw and then worsens that by having a very slow release........a deadly combo

Opponents know all of these so they can sit on receivers in the flats because they know we can't go deep. They stack the box so it makes it hard to run.

When Miller came in yesterday, Miami's defense backed off a couple yards and that gave us holes up the middle.

Would have to disagree look at his throws more than 20 yards the ball is shaking and the reason he is over throwing people is he doesn't have the torque to squeeze it in.

nah when he cuts it loose the ball looks fine.

Baus's issue, such as it is, is that he just doesn't let it fly all of the time. Part/Most of that is playing to not make a mistake. Of course that means you don't take any chances either.

Well, yes they should; but it should be average yards per pass, not total passing yards per game.

Nothing I saw last night proved him to be a division 1 QB. He threw more out of bounds than any QB I've ever seen. All(2) of his completed passes were check downs to the RB. He simply does not look comfortable in the pocket as he vacates it before it even collapses. All of his throws were off target and none were spirals. He holds on to the ball for FAR too long. I'd much rather see Taylor Graham or Kenny Guiton given a chance.

You can say I'm bashing, but I disagree... I'm describing exactly what I saw.

The laughing was extremely inexcusable. That pissed me off more than anything else in the game. I'll keep my comments regarding Joe to myself so as not to bash the kid, but I have almost no respect for him anymore after seeing that. He showed no heart and absolutely no desire to win last night. /rant over.

Ditto. Braxton looked notably pissed off after the game ended. Me thinks that kid has the competitive fire.
