QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Dammit, why do they have to play on Thursday?

The whole league plays Thursday because the first game is on a Thursday the following week. Hell, how do you think the Browns front office feels? Final preseason game against the Bears, and with us playing, they might get...what...8 people in the stands and 4 more watching at home? :slappy:

15/34 for 196 yards with 2 INTs.

Troy is, however, leading the team with 56 rushing yards.

I didn't get a chance to see the game, but it appears that all of the Ravens offense was pretty terrible.

Smith ended the game 18/38, 237 yards, 2 INTs

He also lead the team in rushing with 7 att, 56 yards, 2 TDs.

Not bad, not great. A decent performance from a guy that has rode pine for a few years now without starting and/or playing a full game. He made a case for a solid trade somewhere.

I agree. Baltimore used that last preseason game as an audition for Troy. They find a taker soon.

Newsome explains decision to release T.Smith

In cutting quarterback Troy Smith, the team?s fifth-round pick in 2007, the Ravens are taking a risk with just two quarterbacks on the roster in starter Joe Flacco and backup Marc Bulger.

In a written statement announcing the team?s moves, general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome said the decision boiled down to adding depth at another position.

?The competition to make our team was very heated, and we decided to keep a position player rather than a third quarterback,? Newsome said. ?We have a number of young guys who made our team who have tremendous upside, plus they can help us win this year. We?ve gone with two quarterbacks before.?

The last time the Ravens had just two quarterbacks on the roster was 2006 when the late Steve McNair was backed up by Kyle Boller.

San Francisco would be perfect if they hadn't signed David fucking Carr in the offseason. He'd be perfect for that offense.

Seattle or Houston I bet, whichever doesn't get Leinart.. Arizona would make sense too. But they love Max Hall.

Please God, no. I want him to get another gig, but I'd like to not feel dirty rooting for him in the next one.

LOL Im a Bills fan and I love seeing buckeyes on the team but I also want him to succeed and Buffalo is where QBs go to die haha. The Cardinals could be a nice spot for Troy, like me he's also a big fan of those In-N-Out burgers.

The Cardinals love both of their rookie QBs, especially Max Hall from BYU. Don't be surprised if he's starting at some point this season.

The Bills and Bengals look like viable options on paper. The Steelers might look at Troy in the short term, but I hope he doesn't end up there.

I hope he gets another shot.
