RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

I don't think the coaching situation is as big of a deal as some are suggesting. If it was, I think he would've de-committed as soon as Tressel left. IMO, the possible NCAA sanctions remain the biggest 'issue' & are the only reason he's looking around. Once we hear the final outcome with the NCAA, I think we'll have our final answer with Dunn. Here's to hoping that he sticks with his commitment & enrolls early at tOSU.

I think the coaching staff is a huge deal. He probably thought there was a really good chance that Fick would stay the HC after the season like alot of us thought. Now that hes hearing that we might get Urb, and change the whole offense, its probably got him worried.

He may have.......but considering Luke was named the HC until the end of the season & was told that there would be a coaching search conducted after the season, I don't think anyone should've thought/guaranteed Luke would be retained as the HC.

I'll believe that Brionte may be worried about Urban changing the offense, but we shall see. Still plenty of time left between now & the time he enrolls. Hopefully whoever the next HC is going to be () will be in his ear when the time comes.

Thats why, if Urb in the new coach, it needs to be announced ASAP. Urbans needs to tell him we will still run the power I, and alot of pro-style offensive plays. And you know Hoke is telling him, "Ohio is going to run the spread any you dont fit in that offense". Im confident that if Urban is named HC soon, he will be able to fix this.

I agree, this is why I don't agree with taking forever to announce anything for the sake of being respectful to Fickell, like it or not, you gotta recruit and other teams are gonna take advantage of our situation, and Urban (if he comes) gotta get here and start recruiting

Yeah and with the NCAA dragging its feet like always, who knows when the sanctions will come out.

These situations never work out for the team that has the commitment. I'd say he's 95% Michigan, 5% Ohio State at this point.

It's really sad to see all of these Ohio kids looking to go to a school that wants to "Beat Ohio."

FWIW, I've had Dunn to Michigan for months now - it just makes too much sense on too many levels. Not a done deal, but I have not been optimistic for quite a while now.

Remember, Crable and Burgess also went north, looking to "Beat Ohio". How'd that work out for them?

I'm at the point of not caring anymore, really. Kids are going to be conflicted by OSU's circumstances. This is the most unstable they've seen the entire program in some time. It would be nice to keep Dunn but scUM clearly has the momentum in recruiting this year.

Says nothing of their ability to beat us in battles that actually count.

I can't understand why Dunn would be against Urban and the offense that OSU runs\will run. It is not like ScUM runs a Pro style offense....

It really seems like Dunn has been wavering all season on his commitment, if you can call it that....

Just some food for thought...

If Urban were to come to Columbus and bring Greg Studrawa with him, I wouldn't expect our offense to be a spread based on Urban's name alone, especially considering the kind of RBs we have at our disposal (Dunn included) and what Studrawa has going on at LSU. LSU's offense (under Studrawa's direction) is running a smash-mouth operation with a balanced passing attack. Look no further than the Alabama/LSU game where LSU attempts 10 passes the entire game. What RB wouldn't want to play in that offense? The most passes they've thrown in a single game this year is 28 (@WVU) and the average looks like about 18-20 attempts per game... hardly spread-ish. Dunn could be the Spencer Ware for this future Buckeye offense if Urban and Studrawa were to make their way to Columbus, as rumored.

If Meyer is announced, then it doesn't matter what Dunn does or doesn't say. If Meyer wants him back, he'll get him back. Heck, I'm pretty much convinced after seeing how well he recruited at Florida that Meyer could get Kalis to switch on signing day if he wanted.

We hated the way the whole Shariff Floyd thing played out, but the idea of that guy calling recruits in Ohio to come to OSU has to give you a great deal of confidence. He'll chew Hoke up and spit him out.
