RB Daniel "Boom" Herron (Official Thread)

He did it again this year. He got away with a really obvious "going after a defenseless player" hit against a WR (Sanz?) who was making a diving catch. The receiver was down, with the ball, and he came in and went to the guy's head. There's football and then there's just being an ass.

Boom's stiff arm on his TD run out of the wildcat was amazing. That was a defensive tackle that he knocked on his ass! It's funny how well Boom can run when the other team isn't doing everything in their power to stop the run. The more success Pryor has throwing the ball, the more success Boom will have running it. Pick your poison.

Boom's a RS JR right? Don't they usually reserve the right to be a captain for Seniors? If Booms already at 22 with a whole season to go, I see no reason why he won't catch Beanie.

I think he's the most underrated player on the entire team.

Boom is a solid running back. I don't think passing Beanie means much though. Beanie only played the equivalent of 2.5 years.

He's No. 1

Daniel Herron continues to assert himself as Ohio State's top tailback. Coming off a two-touchdown performance in last week's loss at Wisconsin, Herron scored the first two TDs, on runs of 10 and 1 yard. In fact, he carried all five times on the Buckeyes' first possession, a 60-yard drive that included a 15-yard face-mask penalty against Purdue.

"I just thank coach Tressel for giving me the opportunity to carry the ball," Herron said. "I am going to continue to do my best and try to lead the team the best I can."

His first collegiate 100-yard game again eluded him. After gaining 91 at Wisconsin, Herron gained 74 on 16 carries in what amounted to less than three quarters of action. Is a 100-yard game coming?

"I hope so," said Herron, whose career high was 97 against Iowa last year. "I'll keep working hard toward getting one."

Boom's been banged up his career too. And this is his 3rd year just like Beanie.

Yeah, I don't know how relevant of a stat touchdowns are..Beanie is still miles ahead in total yardage. I know Boom's offensive lines have in general performed much better then Beanie's ever did. It's still a nice mark to pass obviously though.
