RB Michael Weber (New Jersey Generals)

Every time I see him run I think of Carlos Snow. The resemblance in their running style is uncanny.

Also, did they go with a darker grey in the pants this year or something? That Tulsa game in the rain with the stadium lights on looked like the '85 Iowa game every time I just looked up at the screen. Is it just me?
Exactly.

His vision and patience in the backfield is bordering on Clarett territory.
Vision and patience are fine, but lets not start comparing him to Clarett. Clarett was a beast as a true freshman. I like what i see from Weber, but I also think he is not as strong/powerful as I thought he would be. He seems to get stopped by hits I think he would break. Another year with Marotti will do wonders.

Opinions about him are interesting. I have a hard time getting a read on him so far. I need to see more of his running.

And I don't mean to say I need to see more to determine if he is good, he has looked awesome. I need more time to figure out exactly why he is awesome.

Edit: with so many new players, I just realized this is the ideal year to rewatch games. . .

Did you watch Clarrett play in 02?

Sure did. Still one of my favorite players I've ever watched.

Ugh, then why isn't he a Heisman candidate?

Take a few....slow......steps back from the Kool-Aid Mr. Jones.

Relax, bud. I'm entitled to an opinion. I haven't seen a back at tOSU this young/inexperienced display the vision Weber has other than Clarett. Not Zeke, Hyde, Boom, Beanie, Pittman, or Wiley. All those backs I listed took time to get their footing. Do you disagree with that? Did any of them look as impressive in their first 3 starts?

Being a Heisman candidate is pretty irrelevant in September, isn't it? Tho I'm sure Tate Forcier is proud of his trophy.

Side note - It's pretty funny people are calling me crazy for this comparison but had no problem with all the Hooker-Ed Reed comparisons after 2 games

I hear what you're saying, and though I don't necessarily agree with the Clarett comparison(he was one of my all time favorite Buckeyes), I see what you're eluding to, a young kid with great vision, patience to wait for the play to set up and blocks to arrange. Both backs are on the stocky side, built like power RBs, but have deceptive speed and the ability to grind a defense into dust by the 4th quarter.
All the RBs you mentioned were at tOSU at very different times, with very different teams surrounding them, Weber has the pleasure of playing on the best all around team of the RBs that you mentioned(outside of Zeke). I think Weber is blessed with time to cement his Buckeye legacy

And I love your Hooker comparison, because there honestly has been a lot of over the top comparisons for him after even 1 game, let alone 2. So you're Clarett comparison to Weber is honestly not that outrageous. You're entitled to your opinion just like those who've compared Michael Jordan to Orlando Pace, or Hooker to Reed, etc
