Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

To say that this is not a big deal for this season is short-sighted, IMO. If a team is not behind its coaching staff, even if it is only a few players, it causes a "dissension in the ranks" that can undermine everything the coaches attempt to teach. Players eventually tune them out and that is a very bad sign and the last thing you want to see on a football team.

After last year and this mess, 2009 can tank verrrry quickly for scUM if they fail early on.

I think it's pretty obvious that many players on the team don't buy into Rodriguez.. 20 guys have left since he got there. He is doing something wrong, and I'm sure there are plenty of guys still there who don't feel like their situation is ideal. 20 guys is an absurd amount of people to bail on a program.

Thanks man, and yeah that's what I was saying. Im guessing it won't cause a big ruckus in the long term scheme of things. The story seems to be huge amongst the buckeye fans right now, even more so than with the wolverine fans... which is somewhat understandable.
understandable insofar as it's basically a requirement to have your head buried in the sand (or up your ass) if you want to be a Michigan fan these days.

I don't think there would ever be a more fitting time for a coach to pull out the old Al Pacino/Any Given Sunday speech. In a normal situation that speech gets me going, but it basically fits everything that they are going through right now. I have no clue how to put that video into this thread, so here's the link, if one of the mods wants to drop it in here that'd be great.

Well, now I am even more torn. My usual litmus test is that anything the overcooked hack Jay Mariotti says must be bullshit. But he's come out against DickRod today, claiming Rodriguez has done all sorts of dire things and will not survive this incident.

With Michigan in Crisis, Rich Rodriguez Won't Last -- FanHouse

Here we have two complete asses, both of whom are completely devoid of credibility, disagreeing with one another, and I'm stuck in an endless do-loop of which one to believe. It's like an 8-track tape from hell.
