Yeah, and with an already thin backfield, that one hurts. Not so much in that him being around was going to spur some miraculous turnaround in the season's second half, but in that it would have been nice to see if the promise he's flashed a few times this year could be built upon.

I think the offense is going to be very good once they put some more weapons around Garoppolo. A backfield of McKinnon/Breida/Mostert looks very appealing. Kittle is having a breakout year with a couple of back-up QBs. Juszcyzk is a unique weapon in the passing game at FB. Get Jimmy G a legit #1 receiver and beef up the interior OL and this offense could be very dangerous next year.

Hell, for a team that has been ravaged by injuries, aside from getting boat-raced by the Rams, they've looked pretty solid in every other game. I know moral victories are lame, but they've been a bounce their way from winning 3 other games, and have been competitive in the others.

Foster is a true doo doo head. I didn't think he'd last long but I thought he'd last longer than 16 games. The 2017 draft---which was obviously huge to try and set the team up moving forward---is now basically a disaster.
