Satellite Radio (XM, Sirius, and Stations) MERGED

XM has far more subscribers and cooler technology.
Sirius has Howard Stern and some sports.
Despite Howard Stern's presence, and lamer technology, I like Sirius better for one reason - live NFL games (Sirius has an exclusive deal with the NFL). I can't purchase NFL Sunday Ticket thru digital cable, I can't put a dish on my condo, and I'm stuck with the Browns and Steelers games each week :sleep2:

If Sirius does not get enough subscribers to pay for the costly Stern and NFL they will be out of business. That is my point. Keep an eye on the merger, you read it here first. Who buys who will dictate which equipment works later also. Based on stock price I think XM had a customer valued at over $100K.

I honestly think cable and cell phones will rule the media airwaves in the future.

Bingo. If they ever get either one out here in Hawaii (which I seriously, or should I say Siriusly, doubt), then I'd get the one with the best music. I watch college football on TV all day on Saturdays and don't give shit about the NFL, so football on he radio is meaningless to me.

I never claimed to be cool - nor could I get away with it - but I have been using mine as my car radio for over a year and I couldn't be happier.

I guess that I am not that cool either Oh8ch. I absolutely love my iPod and I take it everywhere I go in my car.

I'm in the iPod camp. I got mine about a month ago, and I'm never without it. Adapting it for your car is not more difficult than what you do for a satellite receiver. I sell Sirius at work (I'll admit I don't know a damn thing about XM) If you need Howard Stern or NFL, Sirius is definitely the way to go. If you're looking for music, I think it's only marginally better than broadcast radio.

For me, it isn't a question of going somewhere; it's a question of being force-fed the NFL's "regional coverage" when you don't give a damn about the local NFL teams. I get the Browns and Steelers games every week, and I don't care about either of them.

What's even more useful is MLB Extra Innings on digital cable. If the NFL offered such a package I wouldn't be interested in Sirius or XM.

I can't believe you don't play Fantasy Football Mili. I used to be in the same boat regarding the pro games but man I care about all of the games now, makes the NFL a lot more interesting for me, even though I don't think my wife appreciates me being glued to the the TV all day Saturday and Sunday. :roll1:

I hear that. I had to get a dish just so I didn't have to watch the Steelers or Browns every week.

Don't hold your breath on that one.
