Anybody used these advance reservation sites before?

I'm tempted, but it's also a hell of a donation if something goes awry during the season.

I'm wondering about those who've bought market tickets to Indianapolis vs. this. Is it really a better investment.

Also thinking about ordering extra, since they can be sold to bidders on the site during the season.

Interested to hear your opinions.

Yup, I'm using them this year. Still think it's a good investment to risk $210 in this case against having $2000+ in some other teams tickets like I did last year.

What are reserves going for now? It's interesting, right? One could totally play this as though it were stock options. I've considered buying some extra reserves just to play with.

*NOTE: STAFF--I didn't see the other thread about tickets. Maybe you can merge this one with it.

Any idea how much the "transaction fee" is if you get your tickets?

They charged a transaction fee up front of about $5 with the reservation fee (that varies depending on how good/close the seats are). Not sure if there is another one added on for the tickets, since they just state the face value that will be charged if the team makes it.

I think tickets were running $50 to $190 for endzone to approx. 50-yard center seats.

The reservation fees are running from $20 for upper level corner to $75 for lower-level mid-field. They've sold out their allotment of upper level endzone seats already.

I did take a small dip in the "stock options" pool. Just a couple extras. I took a lower level goal line, and a couple lower level mid field (25- to 50-yard line basically). Figured if our team blows up this year, it's $$ I can get back by opening a new checking account with the bonus offers I'm constantly getting. And if tOSU goes, I should be able to trade them out to pay for my own trip. Looks like you can trade the reserves out any time during the season, so if all goes well, I might dump mine before the tsun game, just so I can half-way relax and enjoy that one. Anyway, it's kind of like making a season-long bet with Vegas, isn't it? Not sure what games like last Thursday's will do to my nerves now. But, if it works out, I can certainly use the money. Anyway, it will make the season more interesting.

I could see some people getting crazy with hedging their bets by buying in on several teams. 'Bama prices are crazy. And, they already have reservations for the semi- and national final for them --nobody else. You'd have to really be brave (or affluent) though, because the actual game tickets are listed as "TBD"--that could be a rude awakening when you see your credit card bill.

Ok, so then, at this point I'm 'in the money' as I spent $55 per seat in what is now going for $75.

And yeah, like a seaon long bet. I suck at betting though. What sucks worse is sitting on $2K+ of tickets and thinking that I was going to have to drive to Indy the day of the game to see if I could sell them for a fraction of what I spent. After gas, etc... it would have been a pretty significant loss. Thankfully I was bailed out for almost even money a couple of days before the game. I had physical tickets so I had to pay for next day delivery... broke even pretty much outside having to pay FedEX... and well, the toll on the nerves.

It's an interesting business model. Frankly, I like it.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I’m curious which section BP members put in for. Anyone else purchase reservations this way?

I’m counting on the Bucks to flatten PSU next Saturday.

I have 4 in LL / mid field club. Pretty much where we sat for 'Blood Thirsty' but hopefully on tOSU side. Not that the Wisky side wasn't pretty much all tOSU anyhow. We were in the 14th row at about the 38 yard line. I was afraid that it would be a bit too close, but it was perfect. Couldn't see the plays develop as well as an end zone seat, but it was a blast.

Good luck! Hope it works out for all of us. I will watch this game a lot calmer than last year with only a couple hundo on the line as opposed to a couple thousand.

Good to know. Well, if we get in we’ll be in the same section, lower level mid-field... so I’ll see you around. Here’s to a huge win this weekend.

Interestingly, the prices have not changed--so far. Very well may after this week-end.

I did reservations for the Lower Level Goal line (Sold Out now), which I may use if we aren't having a blizzard to drive thru that weekend, and a couple in the Lower Level Mid-Field which I gambled on selling if tOSU can keep its act together for the next 4 or 5 weeks. Fingers crossed.

Of course, this Saturday may not necessarily decide the outcome, since anything could happen in November, including the Pedsters stubbing their toe repeatedly or losing their prime QB/RB to injuries. Same for Wisky.

So, a couple of sections have sold out now, and the prices have gone up a smidge.

I'm still a little confused about whether tOSU clinches if Wisky beats tsun this weekend. Out of division, so it won't apply to the championship?
