Seeing as how the All-Star game "means" something now, and directly affects home-field advantage for the WS- it's a simple matter of "Does Manny help the National League win the game and obtain home-field advantage?"

I'd say he probably does. Plus it's the fans voting and they obviously aren't upset about it.

I don't really care but he should play.

He'll play. It's no worse than Yi Jinglian getting more votes than Chris Bosh or Paul Pierce for the NBA all-star game thanks to a billion Chinese fans voting for his absolutely worthless ass. Fan voting is a joke and needs to be done away with. Every team's fans are guilty of it. How many people do you think are going to the Jake and voting for Grady this year, or Peralta or Kelly "king whiff" Shoppach?

It wouldn't be the first time "fans" have voted a guy in based solely on his name, even if he's not actually playing. The AS game is what it is - a popularity contest - and his suspension ends before then, so it's irrelevant in my eyes.

It's impossible to really differentiate between Gary Bettman, Bud Selig and David Stern right now. All three are killing their sports in different ways.


And the fans are idiots. If it takes a fucking roidhead getting into the AS game for the league to realize that fan-voting is stupid, then so be it: let the cheater play.
