SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Rumor is that it's Matt Dudek (who is no longer with us) and it's got something to do with the Covid year. Also, supposedly, Harbaugh is pretty pissed because it's "minor" (whatever that means, not my words) and I guess he feels made an example of unfairly; you know, given that the NCAA doesn't enforce much of anything anymore.

I haven't read much of this thread, and maybe it's already been brought up. And I'm replying to what you said, but not meaning to slam you. But to complain about "minor" infractions (if that's what they are) is funny to Buckeye fans. Does anyone remember the list of minor infractions that Ohio State self-reported in 2011 or 2012? This was right after the Tressel shit blew up, so Ohio State was under the microscope. It was a million tiny things. Okay - not a million. But a lot. One recruit texted a coach, who responded, even though it was a "dead period". That's a recruiting violation. I think they had to report that they had mini basketballs in the weight room, which is somehow a no-no. What was another one? Mike Vrabel had chewing tobacco on the sidelines during a practice? I think another assistant coach was selling those silicon wrist bands to raise money for someone or something. He wasn't supposed to raise money from the football players.

Or... go back a little farther. 2003, after Ohio State had won the national championship. I think a few of the players were at some convention signing autographs. It cost money to get into the convention, but that money wasn't going to the players. OH NO!!!

Or... same year... Maurice Clarrett. All the shit hit the fan about him. The NCAA came in and did their investigation. They were ready to dish out a punishment. Ohio State said, "Hey, back off, nerd. We aren't done with our investigation." Finally, a game or two into the season, Ohio State said, "We're suspending him 6 games, including the 2 he already missed." The NCAA came out and said, "Yikes. We were going to suggest a 3-game suspension." Ohio State said, "You pansy-ass bitches. He's pissing us off, still. We're suspending him the whole year."

What was my point? Oh yeah - "minor infractions". If it truly is "minor", Jim Harbaugh/*ichigan won't lost a scholarship. They might get probation. But just remember that your coach slapped an opposing coach and didn't get fired. Yeah, yeah- tomato, to-mah-to. I'm just not confident the NCAA will try to flex their muscles for *ichigan.

I'm not gonna be responsible for how every single Michigan fan in the past 25 years feels or talks about OSU; nor am I complaining.

How you feel about this is going to depend on how you feel about Michigan; I personally do not give a flying f*ck. Sounds like HARBAUGH is pissed tho, or at least working this into his excuses for leaving.

The rest of that is a wall of text.

Edit: as an aside, what would losing scholarships even mean post NIL right? None of the elite teams in the Big10 have a scholarship limit anymore. You just pay it out without putting them on scholarship. I dunno, maybe we're covering up something big; but I doubt it, and just between you and me, I don't really believe Harbaugh would leave for that reason - I think he's leaking it out to Bacon because he's already decided he's taking an NFL job. That's just my speculation tho. The rest of it I picked up from Michigan forums and is probably more or less accurate re: Dudek and it being a recruiting violation related to Covid.

Deflecting. Excuses being made for Harbaugh's inexcusable behavior, prepping die-hard Harbaugh fans with premanufactured excuses for his departure.

Bacon must really believe he's going to go.

True they are already deep into their excuse building. However it is entirely possible that Harbaugh himself is looking for any excuse, as minor as it may be, to leave.

I think you're 100% right here.

I'm pissed, but also this is starting to feel like dating the hot girl out of your league in HS. It's great while it's happening, but you know she's trading you up at the first opportunity. I have had enough of "Simple Jim." Just piss off now so we can drag ourselves out of the crater Jim leaves in his wake; before Spring Ball.

Edit: like just about the only way Harbaugh can leave and be forgiven, is to make us super mad at someone else. So far the smoke is blaming Warde Manuel, and the NCAA. As a fanbase we hate both of these entities and already blame them for all our failings. It's perfect propaganda for a guy looking to get out immediately. Doesn't feel like a coincidence and Bacon is a mouthpiece.

It's only just begun as well. Once the NFL regular season ends after this week I expect the Harbaugh stuff to ramp up even more.

That's more or less what I do.

I'll take your word for it. I was (and still am) happy when any girl just talked to me.

I guess my point was that he (and everyone else) can bitch and moan about the rules and minor infractions. And many do bitch about them. Lots of people go on with their jobs without ragequitting, though.

Edit - Now that I've thought about it, though, a lot of people DO ragequit. So... meh...

If I didn't rage quit (as a fan) after the Philly Special, while I was screaming at the TV "take the three points Jim," *I'm* not ragequitting now.

But if what you're saying is "Harbaugh is lying and Bacon is a bootlicker making excuses" I agree with you 100%. Also, the fact is even if Harbaugh is being honest then we still need him gone. You hate college football and the NCAA Jim? That's too bad, since what we do here is... college football.

It's gonna be improperly meeting with a recruit in person, during the plague. Whether or not you consider that a "major" violation will probably depend on how you feel about Michigan. I get it, Bacon is playing victim, but given how shady college football is right now, this does seem like "making sure we look busy."

What matters with something like that is did tsun self-report? Or did they stonewall? Worse, did they actively try to cover it up? I agree that it's a minor violation, but it's how Harbaugh reacted and responded that will be the real story.

They managed to keep Mazi Smith's felony weapons thing completely silent nearly until the season was over. Wouldn't shock me if they did the same with something that woulda been a fairly minor somewhat insignificant NCAA infraction for a long time until it somehow came to the NCAA's attention.

We all know that a attempted cover up and lying is the absolute worst thing in the NCAAs mind.

Sorry, I quit reading when Harbaugh and ‘dating the hot girl’ were in the same analogy.

Harbaugh: “Although no one knows the future, I think I will be coaching Michigan next year.”
Either way, Harbaugh continues to leave the door open to explore an NFL opportunity. The Panthers and Denver Broncos have reportedly reached out and spoken to him about their head-coaching vacancies, and others are expected to do so in the coming days, giving him options.
