Hopefully Redgie's off the field problems are a thing of the past and he can contribute this fall.

Arden still in plans

Ohio State Buckeyes defensive coordinator Mark Snyder said that former Ironton football standout Redgie Arden remains in the team's plans this fall.

Arden injured an ankle at the start of spring workouts and missed most of the workouts including the Scarlet-Gray Game.

"Redgie has been doing a good job in the weight room and in the classroom," Snyder said.

"He hurt his ankle - that kept him out of practice for three weeks, but he should be in the mix at defensive end. We've got a bunch of young guys who have got some talent and Redgie is one of them."

I just got off the phone with my friend about an hour ago and here is what he said. The football team was out celebrating the end of their 2-a-days practices at a bar that is right next to the football stadium. The "OSU player" came in and started talking trash to Stan White and Goddard jumped in. He said everyone went outside and Goddard beat the hell out of this guy and left him lying in the road. The police came and the Marshall players started fighting them. I'm good friends with this guy so I doubt he's lying. He is friends with one of the Marshall player (went to high school with him) and saw the whole thing. Said the OSU guy was white, big, and looked like a lineman or TE.

It's interesting that there was no mention of anybody being charged in the fight. If Arden was indeed sent to the ER and needed surgery, wouldn't someone be charged? I suspect a lot more will come out in the next day or two.
