Arden went to a Marshall Post Two A DAy Party,
Apparently Invited by a Marshall Player, as it is by invitation with a ticket only
This is a Marshall Team Tradition ... beer party post two a days ..
So there was some Trash Talking, and three players went after Arden.
THE BEST PART ... is that on a Marshall site, one of their guys says that this
all the doing of that dirty coach JT ... he is afraid of Marshall, so he sent a
third string player to Marshall to start a fight with some starters "to level the
field" so that OSU has a chance inthe upcoming game.... because we all know
that is the way he operates, and without help we are in big trouble.

when you are a 1-AA for so long and you dominate....you start to think you can run with the big boys. kstate didnt exactly help matters last year either.
chalk it up to idiocy of their fanbase.

I agree with most of the fan stuff. But, I think they have done a great job moving their program upwards. It isn't easy.

their team is having great success moving upwards......but their fans are complete redneck idiots who dont deserve the success. to say that tressel sent arden in to get his ass kicked because he was afraid of mighty marshall proves it.......and what is sad is that i think the person who said that actually believes it.

If Marshall isn't any better than their team of three years ago that was played dead-even by I-AA Youngstown State in the season finale, on thier home turf no less, then they are in for a major ass-pounding in The Shoe.
They've played three big-name teams over the last three years:
2001: Blown out by Florida 49-14
2002: Blown out by Virginia Tech 47-21
2003: Beat Kansas State 27-20 (KSU played without Ell Roberson)

Thundering Herd player arrested

USA - HUNTINGTON, WV -- New details are released about the weekend bar fight near Marshall University's campus that seriously injured a football player from Ohio State.
Redgie Arden was hospitalized at Cabell Huntington hospital with injures to his head.
Several Marshall football players are suspects in the beating.
Arden's parents say he's doing much better and is expected to be released Monday afternoon from the hospital.
Arden suffered a broken nose and other injuries to his head and upper body after a fight outside the 20th Street Bar and Grill.
Arden's father, Phillip Arden, said his son walked in to the bar and someone pointed him out as a player for Ohio State.
He claims that's when he was surround by Marshall players and taken outside and beaten.
Phillip Arden says it was a madhouse inside the bar and that his son immediately realized he was in a bad situation because he was a player for Ohio State and was surrounded by Marshall players.
Phillip Arden says those Marshall players then escorted his son outside where they proceeded to beat and kick him in the head.
He says it's fortunate his son is not dead.
There have been no arrests so far in connection with the beating, but Jonathon Goddard was arrested for battery on a police officer.
He allegedly shoved an officer several times.
Arden and several witnesses say in the police report that he was targeted because he was an Ohio State player.
The suspects, including Goddard, say Arden threw the first punch, but police couldn't find anyone who said they'd been punched by Arden.
Huntington police are interviewing everyone involved and arrests are expected soon.
Marshall Coach Bob Pruett says he will reserve judgment until he knows more about what happened.
Goddard, a 6', 245 pound senior, led the Thundering Herd with 20.5 tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks last season. He has started 24 consecutive games.
Arden, a 6'4", 260 pound junior defensive end on the Buckeyes' two-deep roster, was sentenced to three days in jail in 2002 after pleading guilty to drunken driving.
Arden is a native of Ironton, Ohio.
i find it hard to believe he was as completely innocent as his father says....but i dont believe any of the marshall players either.
