TE Jake Stoneburner (Official Thread)

I like Jake as much as the next guy, and I would love to be wrong on this, but I just don't see an offer for him until at least camp if not until after some of the big names like Tate & Floyd decide where they want to go. I personally think he'd be a TREMENDOUS addition to this class. We need a WR with some serious heighth and I think Jake has the wheels to go with.

This one should be fun to follow.

I actually heard one guy this year on ESPN say that OSU has had the fence around Ohio taken down with the 07 recruiting class.

Anyway, Jake would make a nice Buckeye!!

I agree I really hope Jake gets a Buckeye offer. As far as ESPN those guys no absolutely nothing about recruiting. They are all a bunch of tools. :oh: :io:

I agree, a WR with Jake's height, speed and hands would be a great addition to the '08 Class but as a TE. He looked very good in the video clips I saw, hard to stop.

I eat my words on not thinking he'd be offered for a while...then again, The Man might be on to something with Rudolph. Who knows. Anyway, wouldn't be shocked if Jake locked it up pretty soon! But then there's always the fun of the recruiting process. :)

Great news!!!!!!!!!!!

If we can pull him and Rudolph that would make for a great TE class...

CBF40...do you really think we'll be using Stoneburner at TE as much as we would at WR? His speed is definitely sufficient for a SE and the consensus on him seems to be at WR. I personally think they're going to use him as a unique hybrid to create mismatches, but at the same time, I don't see him doing an abundance of blocking while at tOSU.

I don't know how his body is going to develop, but he appears to be WR all the way on film. Excellent speed for his body size, good balance, soft hands, and good toughness. He looks to be very comfortable with his game right now, and it wouldn't surprise me if he becomes a Jeff Samarja type of player at tOSU.

from jake's interviews it seems like college coaches like him at TE, his bench was impressive in texas, he is a big kid now, if he has the frame he can be TE size at osu by his second year, and even if he is a wr he better be doing some blocking or he wont' be playing
