Team that you are sick of hearing about

Again with the NBA haters...

What I do not understand is how people continue to say the same things: selfish, showboats, thugs, etc.... YET the best team in the league over the past 10 or so years resembles none of those traits. If you do not like those things, then cheer for the Spurs. They are team-first, upstanding guys that know how to win. But do not complain about the character of the NBA when you have not even studied the character of the best players in the league.

By far the Celtics. I think the media is ready to hand them the Championship already. Apparently if you put three stars on a team, you are guaranteed a championship. Right Yankees? Oops, bad example. :roll1:

I'm enjoying it myself, do I detect a note of jealousy out there.....

I noticed your "disabled reputation" thing.

How does that happen?

Just wondering. I'm a new guy getting adjusted to this site.

The Administrative area is probably the best forum to ask questions, but you go to user CP --> Edit Options --> Uncheck the show your reputation button.

Just because the best team is atypical of the league as a whole doesn't mean people can't complain about the league being a bunch of selfish, showboating thugs. The NBA is a horrible version of basketball. Ridiculously talented on an individual level, but a horrible version nonetheless.

Same old ignorant bullshit repeated over and over and over again. If you don't like the league, don't bother bitching about it. We (NBA fans) get it. You don't choose to educate yourself. You just simply repeat the same old nonsense.

Last years First Team All-NBA: Steve Nash, Amare Stoudamire, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kobe Bryant.

Second Team: Gilbert Arenas, Lebron James, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Chris Bosh

Third Team: Dwyane Wade, Chauncey Billups, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony

PLEASE SOMEBODY POINT OUT THE RAMPANT THUGGERY AMONGST THIS GROUP!

Glad I wasted my time reading this..............

And yet, you decided to add nothing and waste your time posting in the thread. NBA haters fuckin' kill me. You're like trolls.

Public forum, public opinions.

I'll watch College Basketball anyday of the week, but I can't watch an entire NBA game. It's too slow and you hardly see any defense being played.

That being said, I'm still tired of the damn Jazz. I thought that I couldn't hate a basketball player more than Karl Malone, and now they have Boozer who is Malone, if only Malone went to Dook and swindled a blind man. :shake:[/quote]

:slappy: So true. I hate Carlos Loozer.

Your words. Nobody in this thread posted those words before you did.

...
Did you get that? And again, thuggery is your word, not mine.

At any rate, your post was trying to illustrate the character of the league by using the best team. I posted the bit about the top team maybe being atypical, and your retort is that the best players in the league have good character? I wasn't trying to assert the NBA had poor character, simply that you can't make a good case for the league by singling out the best team, so you singled out the best players. Brilliant. If only I could give you a GPA for that one.

You're also assuming I'm not part of "We" (NBA fans). That would be an ignorant assumption. The NBA is nothing like high school or college basketball, it's like a completely different sport. That being said, I don't dislike the NBA anymore. I've learned that it's very entertaining for the most part, it simply isn't the same entertainment that regular basketball is. In other words, the NBA is a horrible version of basketball but an entertaining sport nonetheless.

It's interesting to see someone bait a trap, and then spring the trap even though nobody really stepped in it. I see why your rep is turned off. I have a pretty good feeling about your reply, so let me throw this one out there:

Same old ignorant bullshit repeated over and over and over again.

Thuggery is not my word. This isn't the first time we've had this debate. Maybe it's the first time you participated. But every time NBA fans try to have a discussion on this board about NBA shit, the haters come out in droves. It's quite amazing actually.

And when was the last time Carmelo was charged with a crime?

If he's the best you got out of the 15 players I've listed as the best in the league, you need a new argument.

October 20, 2004? Being charged with a crime isn't really the modern definition of a thug, but whatever you say, man. At least you finally understood my post. :smash:

Once again, you listed the BEST players in the league, not a representative sample of the entire league. In case you are still having trouble with the concept, my argument was never that the NBA is a bunch of thugs. It was that your post was the equivalent of saying that since the prettiest apples are red, none of the apples are green.

Incidentally, the team I'm most sick of hearing about are the Spurs. Why can't they just be regular thugs like the rest of the NBA?
