The elephant in the room with JJ Redick is whether or not he can be a role player....

The transition from superstar three-point shooter to come-off-the-bench three-point shooter is drastic, especially with streaky shooters.

He cannot be a superstar among superstars. He's just not athletic enough to create his own shot.

i can't afford one. Also, its kind of a BS question. Those two are not going to be asked to play the same roll. If AI is on the team he is there to be a primary scorer. Reddick, however is there to be a spot up shooter and a roll player. It is not a question of who is a better basketball player, just who fits with this team. The answer to that question, I believe, is J.J. Reddick

The fact of the matter is that Reddick might not even be first round draft pick. AI is a bonafide NBA all-star year in and year out. Is always top 1 or 2 in the league in scoring, and if not for him being on the sixers the past 10 years they are not even sniffing the playoffs.

AI would be in the top 5 guys that I would pick.

As for the role part of the discussion that shouldnt matter, b/c even know Reddick can shot, these players he is going to be playing against arent going to be college defenders and he isnt going to be able to stick with his man as well as AI could.

This is a no brainer to me.

A great point has been made about Reddick and Iverson on creating your own shot. Anyone who has watched a game where Reddick has been absolutely harrassed (i.e. UNC) knows that he will begin to miss whereas Iverson is a shot creator extraordinnaire. Something else that no one has mentioned yet is the DEFENSE factor. AI plays hard for 48 minutes if he has to...the man has no limits. JJ isn't a bad defender, but he's nothing like a 1st team all-nba type D guy either.

I would take AI in a split second hands down.

You've got to be a Wizards fan. There's just no other explanation for this comment. He's a shoot-first PG. That's the last thing an all-star NBA USA team needs.

No i am not a Wizards fan, Arenas is one of the best PG in the league. He is a huge PG and very very good. He is also young and is still getting better.

I have one question for Scoonie.

JJ Reddick or AI???

Of course AI. He is better then JJ. AI is an NBA all-star, JJ is just the ACC all time leader in points. You would rather have expereince in this type of situation.
