Game Thread THE GAME: Ohio State 14, TSUN 3 (final)

As much as I hate to say it, I have to agree here. It feels like scUM fans have just lost their luster, it's the "expecting to lose" idea that can easily infect your fanbase. Part of any good rivalry is the "hope" for victory, not the expectation of victory or loss. Top that off, the Cooper era made a lot of them now venomous and bitter to the point that a lot of the class that was displayed in the past is rapidly vanishing. There was a sign at game day that said "You can't spell C_CK __CKER WITHOUT OSU" which all I could think was 'stay classy Ann Arbor' but, that's how it's become for tsun fans. The class is rapidly vanishing, and replaced with resentment and personal insults.

good. fuck them. now they know how the other half lives.

That's my point... it wasn't BS, because we weren't competitive:

1988....Michigan 34...Ohio State 31...Columbus
1989....Michigan 28...Ohio State 18...Ann Arbor
1990....Michigan 16...Ohio State 13...Columbus
1991....Michigan 31...Ohio State 3....Ann Arbor
1992....Michigan 13...Ohio State 13...Columbus
1993....Michigan 28...Ohio State 0....Ann Arbor
1994....Michigan 6....Ohio State 22...Columbus
1995....Michigan 31...Ohio State 23...Ann Arbor
1996....Michigan 13...Ohio State 9....Columbus
1997....Michigan 20...Ohio State 14...Ann Arbor
1998....Michigan 16...Ohio State 31...Columbus
1999....Michigan 24...Ohio State 17...Ann Arbor
2000....Michigan 38...Ohio State 26...Columbus

Did we put up a good fight a few years? Sure. But some of those years were downright embarrassing. Tim B.'s 313 yards? Weren't we the #2 team in the country?

Do I agree Michigan will come back? Do I agree that programs are generally cyclical? Do I think Ntre Ame will be back one day? Sure- these are the storied programs of college football. BUT- if you read my original post, I'm rooting for them to get back on par so the Big Ten is top heavy once again. No one, especially Buckeye fans, want to see a scUM team in the middle of the Big Ten rankings. If you do, you aren't looking at the circumstance holistically.

And threeyards, as a response out of respect, let's not take my discussion so literally.

SARCASM (note- my name is Caustic):[sarcasm] Pile on all you want, fuckers, no need to apologize for being a dickhead.[/sarcasm]

Edit: That chart didn't work out so well... :so:

check out TSUN's overall record during those years. .

The RED games are 1 score games
The GRAY games are 10 point games
The BLACK games are losses
The BLUE games are wins

5: 1 possession games
1: Tie game
2: 2 possession games
3: Blown out twice, 11 points in the 3rd one
2: Blew out scUM

IMO, thats hardly not being competitve.

8/13 games we either won or were within one possession.

I'm with him. I don't care if we winn 100 in a row and they are all 3-0, I'll be floating on air after each one.

Just go sit and think on the Cooper years real hard and remember how those human pieces of garbage up north acted anytime you start to feel anykind of letdown in your intense hatred for them.

Never forgive, never forget.

Well, us blockies were trying to be pretty loud and kept on cheering..it is what we do best :) . You should have seen us when we were walking to the stadium after we parked..45 of us clapping and singing the entire way..songs like "oh when the bucks' and 'across the field', etc. We did it when we went to Purdue too (both the Stadium Ohio and the singing on the way to stadium). It's awesome.

We had to try a couple of times to get it going but as soon as the band caught on to us yelling it, it was golden from there. Each time we did it, it went around a few times before the scUM fans even took notice..which I thought was pretty funny.

You could hear it on TV plain as day, made me chuckle.

Yep. I think you could first hear it plainly during the huddle before Beanie's third-down near-TD jaunt on the last drive. You could even see folks behind the bench doing the "O" gesture...

Are all these wonderful Buckeye's with Roses pictures gone the way of the shredder if we somehow get into the National Chamiponship game?

Nope it's just the other teams acquiescing to the fact that we belong up there so they give it to us. We're happy with the Rose Bowl though

The Northwestern one was the best though simply because they tried to use the Wildcat growl to drown it out and that failed miserably.

It sounded AWESOME on the field! It was great and you could hear it with no problem until the Michigan fans drowned it out with Boos. You could also hear WE DON'T GIVE A DAMN! It was great...

HAYN

I found it quite hilarious whenever the scUM fans got mad as well. Their was a fat obnoxious girl scUM fan behind me with one of those annoying Wisconsin/Michigan/Canadian accents and she was very pissed on the stadium Ohio chant. It was definitely one of the most satisfying moments of my life especially since it was my first trip to The Game.
