The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

One could EASILY argue the B1G rides tOSU too, since ttun...... isn't really a factor to beat anymore.

What's propping up ped state except the ghost of Joe? Sparty?...... every 10 years they're a minor issue. Rutgers?.... hehehe. Corn?...... not even. The others..... c'mon...... WI isn't consistent.

So, essentially, ttun and tOSU can be counted on..... the rest tide us.

In the SEC, it's GA and Bama....... the rest are living on past glory and coattails, much like B1G teams like Corn. I live in fucking TN and they thought they "had something" a couple of years ago. They did..... they had their head up their ass. Peyton's gone.... retired from the NFL even..... get the fuck over it.

The truth is: bitching that the "waaaahhhh, the SEC gets the breaks" is fucking lame. Whip asses regularly, often, and badly....... and you won't have this problem.

We didn't whip asses, we barely slipped by several teams who should've been gone in the first half.

Look like shit, get treated like shit. Whether fair or not.

NOT LOOKING LIKE SHIT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY.

All this whining NOW..... after the fucking worst season in recent memory...... about how we aren't ranked high enough is...... well.... too fucking lame for my generation.

Nobody is propping up Ped State this year, that's the point.

They ARE propping up mediocre cannon fodder like LSU and Florida though. These teams are no better or worse than Ped State, but you'd sure think they are the way the media and CFP portrays it.

It's not lame at all to call out a system that is clearly slanted in the favor of one organization.

Maybe we should just schedule Mid TN State, Austin Peay, UMass, and G Tech? And switch to the B1G West? Then we wouldn't drop the Purdue game because it would be one of the only 4 teams on our entire schedule that are worth a flying fuck and we would focus?

Again....

OUR RESPONSIBILITY NOT TO LOOK LIKE SHIT.

Whining now makes us look weak. Who gives a rats ass about 5 or 6? Who should?

We're damn lucky not to be 10-3..... STILL. That's not some fucking committee's fault.

Man the fuck up. Control what we can..... instead of whining about how "they screwed us......" The Old Man would be screaming, "Don't give the bastards a chance to screw you. Beat the hell out of people and they'll take notice."

Pretend for a second you didn't erroneously hear "WE'RE GETTING RIPPED OFF", and instead heard "THE COMMITTEE IS NOT TREATING EACH TEAM EQUALLY". Now continue your defense.....but you don't get to use "just beat Purdue".

And it should be the committee's responsibility not to have an extreme bias toward one conference..........you seem to be giving them a free pass for that because Ohio State struggled at times this year.

UGA's loss to LSU isnt even brought up. (as it's been said a million times, first loss doesnt count for SEC teams) It's not like that game was even close. Yes LSU is "better" than Purdue but it's hard to deny that the media and CFP have propped LSU up to be a lot better than they actually are. Same can be said for teams like Florida, Miss State & Texas A&M. Propped up because of the SEC patch they wear on their jerseys.

Look, I'd like to see an expansion to 8 teams because it's better (not perfect, better) for everyone who likes good football. STILL.... like b-ball, there'd be the "bubble" issue no matter how big you make it.

I'm just kind of sick of somehow pretending this year's Buckeyes were a damn fine team. The first 3 weeks (of pastry to chew on) looked good and the last 2 weeks looked great. But, c'mon, bitching now that..... "we got screwed" by anyone other than our own lack of fire, poor execution, discipline errors, shitty defensive scheme AND execution, dumbass play calling on offense........ frankly, Dwayne Haskins, even with his pussy running from mid-season, has pulled this team. This is a good team with some folks who will have great careers playing football for a living, but overall...... damn..... whatever shit we're getting past the damn MD miracle is God and Woody's grace.

Quit bitching at a committee. This team is at what +4 or 5 against Washington. What the fuck do you think the odds would be against GA for this team? Seriously?

for the first time in my life, i HATE that we are being propped up and overrated.

I look at LSU and see a deeply flawed football team.
a 7OT game is the only reason our offense isn’t ranked somewhere in the 90s. We have no stud back for the first time in forever.
we have nothing that even remotely resembles a return game on punts/kickoffs.
andnour defense while still solid is not at the same level LSU is know for.

but a healthy chunk of our “fanbase” only sees #11 and NY6 bowl.

and that’s why O is getting an extension and a raise despite turning in identical results to what got Les fired.

Who here has said that "we got screwed"? I have zero problem with Oklahoma being in over us. I DO have a problem with a clearly inconsisten and biased committee, they cant even get straight year to year or even week to week what their "criteria" really is. It basically changes based upon who they want to prop up that given week (usually the SEC)

It's just been a mediocre year all around for college football. I'll keep repeating but after about the top 6 there is a significant drop off. 9-3 and "top 10/15" this year really doesn't mean much. Just means that said teams are I guess the "best" out of a largely mediocre-average crop. Washington and Florida might be the 2 worst "top 10" teams ive ever witnessed. Penn State was on the cusp of getting there too. That says a lot about how down of a year this was for basically the whole nation.

The entire thread is about how "unfair" the poll rankings are. I'm not going argue semantics, but saying.... "There's no way we shouldn't be ahead of GA" and "OSU has to go undefeated unlike SEC teams" is DEFINITELY implying "we got screwed."

It's whining..... and it's beneath tOSU. Perform on the damn field, don't beat yourself, execute....... and the damn bastards cannot screw you.

Perhaps you'd like to argue this was a damn fine Buckeye team? I wouldn't. Earlier this season NOBODY HERE thought this was a damn fine team.

Now, suddenly, they're fucking top 4? 5? Seriously? What were they around week 6?

Correction: you're not going to address his post whatsoever or the topic that most of us are discussing, the imaginary goal posts used by the committee.

It's quite possible to trash the laughable excuses and inconsistencies by the committee without claiming OSU should have been in. I happen to think the CFP committee is a farce and that OU is a less ugly candidate than OSU.

p.s. They're pretty clearly 5, which doesn't really matter because for some unknown reason, that's an invalid position because they were bad earlier.

You're completely missing the point.

Explain.

1. What exactly the CFP committees "criteria" is. If you can you'd explain it better than they themselves do, because it seems to be a revolving door that changes week to week.

2. Refute the claim that it is heavily slanted toward the SEC.

Sure perform on the field, but there is really only so much you can do when you also have to go up against a biased committee that has no idea even what their own "criteria" even is.

Hell, it's not even really just about Ohio State, it's about everyone but the SEC getting flanked in some sort of matter. Oklahoma possibly very nearly got left out in favor of UGA. You would have had no complaints about that?

Look, the rankings were pretty screwed for me when KY got anywhere. I've got some good insight into that program...... and it's weak to the core. Yeah, yeah, they're SEC... and that matters and that's not fair.

I'm too freaking old to worry about all the crap in this world and the CFP that's unfair. Honestly, the B1G used to get extra respect in rankings too...... decades ago, but true nonetheless.

I do know whining about shit isn't what I do.... nor what tOSU does. The committee is.... and does.... what it does. Unfair? Likely. SEC friendly? Doubtlessly.

Still, what would you think the odds would be for OSU vs GA? Hell, I'd be worried with this team vs OU or ND...... both of whom are overrated. But GA? I'd rather try Clemson...... ugh...... terrible memory.
