Game Thread tOSU at Indiana - Oct 13, 8 ET, BTN

 GTFOH. Hang a lot longer than usual? So what's that, seven min into the second?

They were tied with us last year, at The Shoe, 13-13 at halftime and were only down 27-20 going into the fourth. They also hung tough with MSU this past weekend. That said, they also let fucking Ball State hang 41 on them at home, so we'd better be able to at least match that.

Yes - I think their passing game could move the chains enough to keep it interesting into the 2nd half IF and only IF the offense isn't crisp.

If OSU can go out and put 35 points on the board by halftime or at least score on every possession in the first half, I am pretty sure Indiana's short passing game plan - which is what they have to be going into the game with you'd think - will start to break down a bit.

I'll be heading there early Saturday morning for my first OSU road game with the girlfriend. Any pointers on parking or food destinations? Don't know if Scooter will be much help with parking there.

Also, not sure what kind of tailgating policies they have there. PM or post ideas here, thanks.

:oh:

Get there WAY WAY WAY early. I don't know if it's got any better but when I went awhile back (in '03 or '04 I believe), I left for the game for what should have got me there 4 hours early. Thanks to horribly inept traffic/parking plans in Bloomington, I got into the stadium at halftime. As bad as the parking was, the traffic was just God awful getting in on 1 road with so many traveling Buckeyes. Luckily it is a night game and you should be fine, but just my 2 cents.

This. Two lanes -- one in each direction -- for miles. Also, eastern time zone, right? That's important for anyone coming from Chicago. learned that the hard way once.

I don't think the Saturday midday traffic was the problem, quite the opposite.

They're used to basketball crowds and do not rebuild the road for the buckeyes to fill out their stadium.

. I believe almost the entire state is the eastern time zone. You're just used to that insecure northwest part of Indiana that desperately wants to be a part of the two states it borders.

Agreed--traffic is a nightmare getting in and out. However, I don't think it'll be any better due to the fact that this is a night game. I went to the game in '09, which started at 7:00, and it was horrible in and out. Once was enough for me.

It's worse than that. They aren't on daylight saving time, which means you never know what the fuck time it is in Indiana when you call from Ohio. Sometimes it's the same, sometimes not.

Hoosier pfui. Entire state is a damn waste of space.

This as well... I think that I was totally hosed up on time zones for that trip. Finally made it to the game about mid-way through the first quarter. Didn't miss much.

I don't know if Bloomington is an exception, but as of a few years ago, Indiana observes DST pretty much everywhere. I remember there being a few exceptions, but pretty sure 99% of the state now does DST. I remember when I first moved to Indiana I was annoyed, then I got used to it (never had to change the clock, it was actually nice not jumping ahead or back), and then was annoyed again when I had to go back to DST.

No, the daylight savings thing changed years ago. Indiana IS on daylight savings time. I was just there a few weeks ago.

We're planning on making the trip over to tailgate by at least 10am. I'm hoping parking isnt a problem by that time of day. Still looking for some good tickets though since this is the first trip to Bloomington, anyone have a recommendation for tickets I should avoid?

Interesting. I have a client in Indy who claims they're not.

Who the fuck knows. It's not like it's worth worrying about. (He's not that good a client ...)
