Game Thread tOSU at Indiana - Oct 13, 8 ET, BTN

Anyone else remember this (i.e. in 1976)?

Indiana was led by veteran coach Lee Corso, in his 9th season at the helm (he would leave after one more season to become an announcer for the USFL). Corso had made the program respectable, but he was mostly known in Columbus for a silly stunt he had pulled 5 years earlier. In a 1976 game at Indiana, Ohio State returned an interception for a TD, but missed the extra point. Trailing 6-0, IU marched down the field and scored to take a 7-6 lead. At that point, Corso took a time out and had his team quickly assemble under the scoreboard. He then had a photographer take a picture of the score, presumably so that he would have some evidence that his team had once had a lead on Ohio State. The lead was short-lived, and Woody Hayes ran up the score on Corso to the tune of 47-7. Apparently, Hayes was not amused.

The whole idea started in 1951 when Indiana beat Ohio St. Woody Hayes said "that football team will never beat me again- ever" before the kickoff of the 1976 game Corso ask Woody how he was doing and Woody just growls at him. Corso's response "What the hell are you mad at me for? I was 10 years old when those guys beat you" Woody throws his hat and laughs at Corso.

Ohio State gets a a pick 6 and misses the extra point and then Indiana drives down and scores to take the 7-6 lead. After the extra point Corso walks across the field and tells the official " we quit" official says "what" ,Corso "we quit. We ain't playing no more" Official says " You can't do that" Corso ask "Why"? the official says "your going to get beat" Corso "We are going to get beat anyhow. I quit. We're not going to play anymore" the official says " You can't do that" Corso "OK Time Out"

Corso then had the team and the photographer hurry up run under the scoreboard and took a picture. The crowd mostly Ohio State fans are going crazy, Woody throws his hat at Corso and is yelling. The ref says to Corso "what the hell are you doing"? Corso says"You know what mister it's been 25 years since Indiana has been ahead of that S.O.B. , and I want a picture to prove I'm ahead of him"

After the game the photographer has the nerve to ask Coro " Lee do you want another picture"?

The entire state of Indiana adopted DST in 2006. The NW (Chicago) and SW (Peducah / Evansville) corners are in the Central TZ since 2008. Check before you leave, because it could change again by Saturday evening. Some county in Indiana changes TZs virtually every year

No, the daylight savings thing changed years ago. Indiana IS on daylight savings time. I was just there a few weeks ago.
Well, upon further research, this proves not to be true. As of January 2012, here was the scoop:

Accompanying story found here: Indiana Lawmakers Consider Changing Time Zones Again

Stupid fucking Hoosiers. Nobody, and I mean abso-fucking-lutely nobody, knows what the fuck time it is in their godawful state.

Did you read the article? That was a proposal for another future change. The map is not accurate to what is practiced now.

The greater part of Indiana is presently on Eastern Daylight Time.

Get your facts straight, Dry.

According to my time zone map, Indiana is clearly in the Central Time Zone.

I hate to interrupt this captivating dialog concerning Indiana time zones, but does anyone have any experience with the traffic coming from the south, particularly IN-37 through Bedford?

SR 37 is a four-lane divided highway through the SW, but with some traffic lights and intersections through small towns. It is the best route to take, and you should look to get onto SR 37 as far out from Bloomington as possible. It is scheduled to eventually become part of I-69.

56-17 tOSU.

Indiana has had some things stashed I am sure, just as Nebraska had for us last week (Burkhead under center tossing to Abdullah) and they will come out firing. Still don't like OSU's tackling and inability to prevent the big play, but the offense should keep rolling - hopefully for 4 quarters this time. I think Braxton had an 80 yard run on a QB draw against the Hoosiers last season, pretty sure that's his longest run ever. He should dominate again.
