Let's let this sink in for awhile.

Indiana kicked the ever loving [Mark May] out of the defense tonight.

There is no way that there should be any celebration whatsoever in that locker room.

The defense is absolutely shameful.

Indiana. It's [censored]ing Indiana folks. I see a drop out of the top 10 after this fiasco.

Well, West Virginia let up about 50 to Baylor, and they rose in the rankings...

So as upset as I am about tonight on defense, can't say I am that surprised...at LB alone we have lost Dorian Bell, Scott Mcvey, Jamel Turner, Chad Hagan, Ejuan Price, Jordan Whiting, and Connor Crowell has been hurt most of his time here. Then we have Melvin Fellows, Willie Mobley, Shawntell Rowell, Keith Wells, Adam Bellamy, Jamie Wood, Newsome, Dominic Clarke, Daryl Baldwin, David Durham, Jeremy Cash, Chase Farris, and Kenny Hayes all gone from attrition that could be here on defense (a couple switched to offense).

Ok...so is it a surprise that we are this bad? I am a Fickell/Vrable homer for sure, but they have been dealt a hella shitty hand. The talent simply is not there and that has been proven week after week...that is why Boren is being forced into MIKE. As pissed as I am about this defense, it is time to temper any expectations we had. As a unit, we are bad. There are players like Simon, Hank, and Boren that are all going to be legend. The others...I'm going to watch the game film but yeah, pretty awful at the surface. There are some that just are not "champions" but some just really are not that good and are trying despite that.

That is all I have. Peace.

Amen. Can't argue with any of it.

Blame Fickell and Withers for not having guys prepared, but if they're not ready then they're not ready. Bell and Whiting IMHO are the two we're really missing the most right now.

I agree with that for sure. The thing is, the train is leaving the station. This team will be playing for real stakes next season and with the way things are going on offense they'll have a chance to do big things. As long as Braxton Miller is at QB this team is going to have an open championship window. Can they justify giving those defensive coaches the benefit of the doubt when it might jeopardize that window? I'm not sure I have an answer for that, but we'll find out what Meyer thinks of that question in December I imagine.

Now it's time to give Indiana some credit for one hell of a football game. Many of you may not agree with me, but Indiana is not a bad football team this year. They are a real team, and it showed tonight. They fought their hearts out and played a full 60 minutes, something Ohio State has not done all season. Props to them, they deserve it.

Brandon Castel ‏@BCastOZone
Roby said this defense needs to wake up and realize it can't take plays or drives off

Brandon Castel ‏@BCastOZone
Roby said the defense looks up and see how many points the offense has on the board and they start to relax.

Brandon Castel ‏@BCastOZone
Roby even said guys on defense were laughing and joking around on the sideline before they gave up those last two touchdowns.

Coaches need to hold these guys accountable.
