tOSU at Sparty, December 5th, Noon on ABC

Sorry, but this game ain't happening. Hopefully we get a chance to beat ttun another time in a couple weeks and close our season out unless the CFP committee decides to put us in regardless. Not holding my breath, the cancelation of the Illinois game signaled what is likely the end of the season.

I still think a 6-0 (wins over scUM and Cheese on 19 Dec) Ohio State team will get into the CFPs. However, worst case scenario we get a New Year's Six bowl game. Day will want he added practices and TV exposure for recruiting that goes with the bowl game.

I think if the Buckeyes go 5-0, don't qualify for the BIG Title game they still should get in the playoffs. The committee made it clear that Covid issues will be taken into account when making their final decision. If Clemson wasn't penalized for losing a game, why should we be penalized simply for not playing. Their job is to pick the 4 best teams, and we are clearly one off those.

I don’t care about the CFP.. do you want the 4 best teams or for them to be “fair”. They were fair in 15 but did not pick the 4 best teams leaving out the defending champs and they deserved every bit of that MSU shit-show.

I don’t think we know enough at this point to say the game is or is not happening. It’s certainly in doubt. If we start to have the same kind of increasing positive results that we are seeing with the Baltimore Ravens, I’d be surprised if either MSU or UM happen. But we don’t know if it’s going to be that bad yet.

I’m not that concerned about Big 10 championship.....what’s most important IMO is to just get 2 games in.

If we can get the Michigan game under belt, and then take care of business in our cross-matchup, to get to 6-0, we are in CFP.

If we just get 1 game in, I still think there’s a shot, but less likely, as the (2) SEC team barrage will start coming out. The difference this year is, is ESPN is bleeding hard, and need the ratings we bring. I’m kind of a broken record on that, but as long as we can get one of MSU/Michigan in, and then get our cross-matchup we are fine.

Miss next two weeks tho....confidence starts to fade.

I'll take the B1G Championship over CFP this year. Both would be great, but this is not even close to a national championship team. Not a knock on talent, but more a knock on they need 5-6 more weeks of uninterrupted practice and game reps that Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame have all enjoyed. Alabama will mop the floor with this team. Just sayin'.

It wouldn’t be a fair fight because 2020 but it would be a chance to measure ourselves for 21.

I disagree...you just want a seat at the table IMO. Bama has smoothed out their defensive issues for most part, but they'd struggle stopping a Justin Fields led offense. Their defense is pretty basic and would cause less havoc than what we saw with IU where they basically play "UFO" style. We saw what Ian Book and ND did to Clemson. I have zero doubts we are as good if not better than ND....certainly from a talent perspective, we are above them.

CFP is always a great recruiting tool as well. Lastly, the more practice and reps we can get, the better off we are going into 2021. I think the experience matters.

And, I'd just say, very few people thought the 2014 OSU team had much of a chance against Bama, and we saw what happened. Feels like "we're due" IMO.

Agreed. Don't know why some OSU fans are so scared all the time

I don't trust an SEC biased selection committee to even choose us with 5-6 games played and no quality wins. You'd have serious pressure from Texas A&M or maybe even Florida with a close loss to Alabama, let alone if they beat them. If they beat them, we are cooked.

they have an SEC lean but they also have a $$$$$ bias.... Aggy doesn’t bring the eyeballs this year... even Florida doesn’t.... their wet dream is Clemson, Bama, ND, tOSU ... the eyeballs for that playoff will be highest every
