tOSU at Sparty, December 5th, Noon on ABC

It’s a tainted title if the Big Ten is shut out due to a lack of flexibility. That’s not sour grapes. I’d feel the same way if the Bucks won a title because the SEC got shut out for reasons like this. It wouldn’t be a title. It’d be an exhibition trophy.

There was always going to be a "meh" factor surrounding any title this season regardless. So much of a mess all around.

Minnesota/Northwestern game has been cancelled. The Gophers are up to 40 players/staff COVID positive over a 10-day period. They played against Purdue with several players out for COVID on Friday, November 19. No way to be certain but it seems likely playing that game didn’t help their situation.

Maybe cancelling against Illinois saved us from that bad of an outbreak. Or maybe we already have it that bad. Or maybe I’m just looking for a positive spin on things.

They want to get to 6 games. The question is if the tests (and TTUN) will let them get there.

If they get MSU in this week, they don't need Michigan....I like their chances of playing the weekend of the Big 10 Championship (the cross-over game). I feel like 5 is safe (knock on wood).....6 would be amazing. If they get 7 somehow, god was smiling on them. I continue to believe ESPN would sneak a 5-0 OSU in over a 1 loss SEC team, only caveat being UF beating Bama in SEC title game.

*I should also caveat, I don't believe any of these games are guaranteed wins. If we play MSU this weekend, keep in mind, it will be with a single Thursday practice, that is non-contact, and segmented by groups, followed by a walk-through on Friday.

We are talking about essentially a straight up, roll off the bus game, with limited game prep, no Ryan Day on sideline, and a gritty MSU team. I hope I'm wrong, but should the ball be kicked off, I've definitely got money on MSU covering the 23.5. It won't be an easy W.

Their QB is hot garbage. Any defense with a pulse will......

Ah shit.

Tons of 50/50 balls from MSU which scares me.....and with such limited practice, I don't see Coombs adding any wrinkles or cleaning up our problem of giving tells on every single offensive snap. It's frustrating. Lombardi will know whenever we're in man, pick his target, and throw 50/50 balls all day. Some will work, many will not.

Is our offense crisp, or rusty? Game could go so many directions.

And we don't even know who will be out with Covid.....what if Wilson or Olave are out? Thayer? Teague? Wade and no depth? I mean, there's a lot of moving parts here.

I'd still rather give it a go, than not though.
