I've been hearing that a lot as well

Wade has said it right here on this very site. There's no reason to beat around the bush. Give credit where credit is due to one of our own.

Still way too early to tell but this class wouldn't shock me:

QB: Barrett (add Trubisky if they like what they see at camp)
RB: Elliott (add Green if the staff pushes hard, however I don't see a need)
WR: Gibson, Quick (add one of Allen or Lemay)
TE: Baugh, Heuerman
OL: Lisle, Lazzard, Pocic
DE: Bosa, Neal
DT: Sprinkle, Price, Hurst
LB: Anzalone, Kimbrough
CB: Burrows, Woodard
S: Thompson, Bell
AT: Marshall

That's 21 without adding any of the guys in parentheses. 22 if they add another WR.

I know this may be a tad far fetched, but what r the chances the staff goes after another smaller, scatback type to go with elliot in this class? Imo, when hall leaves the rest of the roster is filled with RBs with similar styles(without elliott of course). Just wondering who will be our RB in space to go wide when another RB is next to braxton.

We'll have Jalin Marshall coming in with Elliott next year. I think Marshall will fill the void left by Hall perfectly.

ive heard this class could go as high as 20

Having trouble seeing 20 this year for a number of reasons. 1) most of the usual attrition (transfers, medical waivers, etc.) has already happened. If you look at the current roster I think you'd have a hard time identifying more than 2 or 3 kids who aren't in the mix for playing time. Its possible that one of this years true freshmen may opt to leave at the end of the year but that's a hard thing to predict at this time. The other possibility is guys leaving early for the NFL. Other than Hankins though, no names really stand out as likely first rounders and I'm not sure if Hankins projects as a first round pick as of now. Not to mention the fact that in 2013 we should be competing for a conference and possibly national title. Will some of these things happen? Probably. Will all of them happen? I think its unlikely.

I've seen quite a few 2013 mock drafts that has Hankins as a Top 10 pick. DTs with his explosiveness are in demand in the NFL.

Yes alot of the attrition occured, but there is normally a 2nd batch that happens once football season happens with a new coach as they find out where they really stand when the games start happening. Because right now they think they have a chance and wanted to stick it out. Then they see a freshman that comes in August that takes their spot and then we are in Week 5-7 and they are buried and don't like it at all.

Then you have the always present issue of off-fieldstuff. How does Meyer deal with them? While we all hope we won't have an off-field issue, it happens.

So 2-3 more of these that happen I think is a conservative estimate. Then things will settle down after this season cycle is complete.

I wonder with the decommitment of lewis Neal, and him likely going to lsu now, do we now pursue a guy like tashawn bower or kimbrough. Neal was a tweener guy, and I wasn't sure if he was more looked at as a lb or de

I'm hoping we offer Kimbrough. No hater at all, but I would MUCH prefer Kimbrough to Neal.

But im just wondering if neals offer was at lb or de, and if we go after kimbrough it means that we still have a bigger need at lb than de

Like his instincts on film much better, plus he is a rocket and a good fit here imo. Plus he loves the Buckeyes. Occasionally I am allowed to disagree with the staff :wink2:
In this case, it would be staffs, plural - Tressel, Fickell, and now Meyer have all passed on Kimbrough.

He seems to have a lot of offers..just not from who he says are his 2 favs....even Hoke hasn't offered him..and scUM offers everybody..it's their recruiting strategy.
