I have no idea

Oh yeah, the season has started, it's time. Haven't shifted my attention from 2015, but it's time to start looking ahead. I am assuming we lose out on McCall and Haussman, in addition to Kraemer. Experience following college football recruiting suggests that it is downright impossible to hold onto all Ohio players. Then again, Urban is a beast in recruiting.

Barring OSU pulling McCall's scholarship (which won't happen), he will be a Buckeye. My best guess to date would be this:

QB: Haskins (still think we lead and he is my favorite in 2016)
RB: George Hill (I agree he could end up at WR)
RB: Elijah Holyfield (trending nicely here and he is always in Columbus it seems...we get one RB not named Hill/McCall because of the talent...I could see Walker or Washington here as well)
Pivot: DeMario McCall (and soon-ish)
WR: Austin Mack (it will be a fight with ND but I feel good on him right now)
WR: Justin Lane (and soon)
WR: Binjimen Victor (maybe a pipedream but he is my favorite WR targeted...we will likely take one more WR...also we will keep pursing Craig hard)
TE: Jake Hausmann (another fight with ND but I think we are further ahead than most know right now)
TE: Luke Farrell (matter of time before he is in...I'm kinda confused on Hawkins here because I don't know how we take 3 TEs even granted that Hawkins is a vastly different player)
OL:
Tyler Gerald (future mauler at guard)
OL: Liam Eichenberg (another tough battle with ND, the Ohio guy I am most concerned on losing on)
OL: Thiyo Lakusa (trending nicely)
OL: Ben Bredeson (more of a wish but we are in the thick of it...we'll take at least 4 next year...also see Michael Menet, Juauan Williams, and Michael Jordan)
DE: Nick Bosa (when, not if...still think he is the top player in the country for 2016)
DE: Jonathan Cooper (when, not if...could be a LB)
DE: Malik Barrow (kid really likes us, might end up inside)
DL: Prince Sammons (might project better at OT...we should get him regardless)
DT: Rashan Gary (going to be a tough get but we need an elite DT, so work your magic LJ Sr...we need a couple really...Onewenu could be very likely as well)
LB: Brendan Ferns (when, not if and a very talented player)
LB: Ethan Tucky (no offer yet but getting heavy interest...I also really like Zach Sandwisch as well)
DB: Levonta Taylor (he'll be near the top of the board and he likes us)
DB: Cedrick Wright (would be a tough pull but he is very interested in us)
DB: Tyreace Speight (no offer yet but I think he will get one)
DB: Patrice Rene (top 100 talent and really likes us but the DB spot as a whole is kind of a crapshoot right now to guess on)

-That is 24 total and seems about right. I would guess Hawkins ends up in the class too but I'm just not sure about the numbers.

I like this very very very early look at the possible 2016 class. But my question is, with us getting H Backs and turning some big WRs like Noah Brown (and possibly Alexander) into a TE hybrid H back, would we even get as many as 2 TEs for 2016. I'm not doubting their talent, just thinking of the depth chart and how we realistically haven't utilized to the effect to take 2, let alone 3, when we'll also Baugh, Brown, and Alexander

Wow, you aim high (a good thing). Getting Rashan Gary would be monumental.

I think Kierre Hawkins ends up in scarlet and gray.

I hear you there and I was hesitant looking at that spot to really project what will happen. I tend to think Alexander and Brown will play similar roles for us as H-Backs and Hawkins is in that exact mold as well. Hausmann and Farrell are pure TE's all the way (maybe Farrell could fill out at tackle ala Fragel with his huge frame but doubtful) and I think we undoubtedly tale both of them. I like Hawkins a ton but he and Farrell are 100% Buckeyes, which is great except you could see ND pitch him their only TE spot and then we miss him. IMO we cannot miss on Hausmann...best Ohio TE prospect since Rudolph and the best in the country. We cannot let Hausmann and Kraemer both slip to ND, or we are bordering on losing our recent footholds in Cincy once again...and that is just aside from losing out on his talents. I personally would think we go all out on Hausmann and put the others on the back-burners, not because of talent but because they will be Buckeyes if we have room.

A few guys on there were probably more of a wishlist because there are no clear candidates. Gary may be the toughest because every school is going to send the house but he has a long standing relationship with LJ Sr. and absolutely loves him...plus Gary has been recruited heavily by UFM for some time now, so the relationships and longevity are all there, we just have to fend everyone else off. Plus I think we will have a favorable depth chart to pitch him. Bennett, Schutt, Carter, and Washington will both be gone before he would get here (kind of a scary thought honestly) and nobody else has necessarily dominated, though I think Hill and Munger will be good players. We took no DTs last year (though Thompson and maybe Slade could end up sliding down) and Alabi is the only DT we have in '15, though I see Cornell inside and Jones could move inside as well. Either way, there is going to be immediate PT for a talent like Gary right away.
