tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Our showing Saturday worries me on the recruiting front.

Now we will have to turn away more 5 stars which will be embarrassing. At least we don't have to worry about them going north, because they aren't recruiting the guys we want.

So this has nothing to do with Okudah? Sorry if this is a repeated question, but I cringe every time I see an offer to a possible safety.

No, nothing to do with Okudah. They're going to continue to "chase" big fish & have contingency plans in place....

UC is dreaming if they think they're close to closing the recruiting gap. No matter what conference they want to join, I don't think it'd matter at thus point. Coombs is a recruiting machine, and is a legend in Cincy, as is Meyer, and they have made too much of a point to go after top Cincy kids. Even if UC joined the Big 12, a number of local kids still wouldn't go to UC, because Tuberville is also an idiot who hardly goes after local talent. The start of the article shows how inept he is with kids, when he put recruits at the opposite end of the end zone. Tuberville has ignored local recruits since he arrived and has left most of the coaches with less than stellar opinion of the team and coach

Bubba Bolden is a natural safety in college and not a LB at all.

Similar to Malik Hooker in height, weight and other ways.
He's not in college. Its hard to say that he's a natural anything yet. He's a very good HS S, and at 6'3 190lbs could very well put on enough weight by his frosh year and play OLB in this defense. If he were to RS that's a very real possibility just like it is for Pryor and White who have similar builds. And I say Hooker as having a thinner build than Bolden as he had a basketball players long and lean body while Bolden is stacked with more muscle like a football player whos been playing a lot longer

I know we've all been concerned about the amount of scholarships in this recruiting class, but there's a realistic chance (albeit slim) we could see even more guys leave for the NFL this year than we did last year.

Guys in their 3rd year that could potentially leave early after this year:
JT Barrett
Raekwon McMillian
Curtis Samuel
Noah Brown
Billy Price
Sam Hubbard
Tyquan Lewis
Marcus Baugh
Malik Hooker
Gareon Conley
Marshon Lattimore

This is an interesting year to have such limited schollies, because with Les out at LSU, that #4 recruiting class is aboutnto be raided BIG TIME! No way Oregeron keeps all those kids committed, especially since he cant even promise them that he'll be their coach. I wish the OSU staff could go after(and probably will) go after a few kids to see their commitment strength

Cannot find a thread on this guy and I was wondering if the recruiting gurus had any insight into this offer:huh:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State offered a scholarship to three-star outside linebacker and Auburn commit Chandler Wooten of Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb on Sunday.

It was the same day five-star linebacker Dylan Moses of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG announced his commitment to Alabama, but who knows if Ohio State's offer to Wooten was reactionary.
