Lllllloyd, while being interviewed by Herbie, on the Awards Show.

"With a playoff, maybe we could settle things on the field."

"I voted Ohio State #1, Michigan #2, Florida #3. We didn't get enough votes. The system has spoken. I wish those two teams all the best in Glendale."

That right there shows a huge difference between JT and LLLLLoyd.
JT was saying before THE GAME that unless you won your conference, you couldn't expect to play for a NC.
LLLLLoyd want it both ways. A remtach would make THE GAME virtually meaningless.
JT and the boys DID settle it on the field with scUM.

It just shows that shouldn't have fumbled and given them the first 10 points from turnovers this year, beaten them by 13, and been done with it. Oh well..........I agree with the posters that Coop was pretty cool for a 2-10-1 coach, and didn't bad mouth Meeeeshegun. However, he didn't get the rivalry either. Lllloyd does. He lived the good life for 13 years (actually not, but Tsun did), and now he doesn't have an answer to Tress's gameday preparation. Shows that Tressel is one of, if not the best, game day preparer in the business. (really, believe it's ALL of the asst coaches too).

Hey, Llloyd's only 50% to where we were with Coop. Any vcash bets on whether he'll 'last' until he gets to 2-10? My hunch is that he'll retire or be pushed upstairs if he loses the next two. Especially when Tsun brings back a pretty good qb and rb, and their usual big OL...........Coop laughed and joked with Lllloyd when he was losing, but Llloyd doesn't with Tress. Methinks that Tress shows him professional courtesy, but that's it. Tress GETS the rivalry, and LIVES it.

:gobucks3: :gobucks4: :banger: PS, LLloyd, we DID settle it on the field. Michigan was found lacking.

Things are being settled on the field.

To wit, 42-39.

All one needs to know about Tressel and Carr can be garnered by watching them on the sidelines during THE GAME. Tressel is cool and calm, and any disagreements he has with the officials are expressed politely yet firmly. Meanwhile, Carr is a nervous wreck who pisses and moans after every call, even obvious ones like Crable's personal foul hit on Troy Smith.

Carr's a bum, and he's exactly what scUM deserves. :osu:

"If you lose, lose early"
Late in the season Ohio State faced Michigan in what was billed as the BIGGEST game of all time. The National Title, Big Ten Championship....all the marbles were on the line. No misunderstandings about what was at stake! "If you lose, lose early"!

What if play-off system was in effect???
In a bracket play-off system, its not uncommon for the 2 preceived best teams to meet in the semi-final bracket rather than the finals. Even when using seating. What if Nov18th was semi-final match-up.

"Throw out the records for this Rivalry Game"
OSU vs Michigan Rivalry game can be odd in its outcome. Skewed in how things really are. Yet people are using it as the main reason for saying Michigan is 2nd best team. They usually play a close game because they are rivals and know each other very well!

Its just Buckeye fans hatred for Carr!
Buckeye fans blow everything out of proportion trying to paint Carr as a whinner! If this is true then why do the TV CAMERAS immediately pan on LLoyd Carr after every penalty!!!!! They know too!

LLoyd Carr & Michigan fans are now sufferring from full blown case of Cooperitice! WARNING: Patients may experience severe reactions when exposed to 10-2 before illness.

Tressel and Carr are both about to talk about the rivalry on ABC's Coach of the Year show.

We got a 'Whoa, Nellie' from Keith Jackson; stating that The Game lived up to the hype.

JT: "For The Game, that's probably the shortest speech you'll give. A, they're ready to play; B, they're not listening."

"What a thrill it was for us to go to Austin, Texas and play the defending champions."

"The library is the heartbeat of the academic center in the University." (JT and his wife are chairing a $30 million fund-raising effort for the library)

Llllloyd:

"I think anybody that's in competition looks forward to play in a game with everything on the line".

"Your greatest legacy is in the type of people that you bring into the University, and the way they represent the University."

There's only 4 coaches that personify the demeanor of say a JT and they were all winners. If a coach comes apart like a cheap watch, then so will the team under tough circumstances. Being type A dosen't necessarily mean your not a good coach, you're just not a good "money" coach.

These are my 4 although I am sure there are more.

1. Jim Tressel
2. Bear Bryant
3. Bill McCartney
4. Tom Landry
