i am gonna get defensive...academically Michigan is on another level than osu. This is a fact, and you guys exaggerate the standards you guys hold your players to.

You need to distinguish first between programs--several programs at Ohio State are ahead of TSUN--and then between ordinary students and your football and basketball team.

On the basis of the enrolled majors of athletic scholars and their comparative performance in APR, there is no comparison.

Ohio State athletic scholars are on another level than TSUN.

Own it.

This and I am a Michigan fan. Yes, Michigan is a harder school too get into for STUDENTS then OSU.... Michigan bends with athletes just like everybody else. Being blind too it is just being ignorant. Now there is a difference between the "bending that schools such as OSU and Michigan do as far as recruiting and then say teams in the SEC for example. Michigan and OSU hardly ever take any JUCOS... SEC schools love JUCOS low risk and high reward. Michigan and OSU(and the rest of the big ten) have always cared about graduating their players and that is never going to change, can't say the same for some SEC schools or other schools across the country. Now by that same token Michigan and OSU respectively also know that some things needed to be bended in order too compete with best teams in the SEC and across the country... they just won't take it to an extreme level.

and for general students, Northwestern is on a different level than Michigan....vastly different.

Michigan is very very close to Illinois in terms of national and global academic reputation. Northwestern looks down at the entire rest of the B1G.

note: these academic rankings and reputations are somewhat subjective too. While it may be nice and cute to cling to these rankings, the quality of the output is far from being in line with these rankings.

I think we do ourselves a disservice when we attempt to discredit Michigan's academic reputation. It is strong. There is no doubt about that. And it is a legitimate point for Michigan students and graduates to bring up when comparing the two schools academically for non-athletes.

It has nothing to do with what goes on the third Saturday of November or what takes place on the hardwood. The guys wearing scarlet and gray/maize and blue aren't normal students.

It also seems that the ones who want to bring it up the most are of the Walmart Wolverine variety (i.e. people who couldn't qualify for either institution or even MSU for that matter).

burke is a good kid. despite his allegiance (though he really is a buckeye under all that piss and blue), i hope he succeeds except when he faces craft. it's then that i want him to shoot 1/11 for 5 points and 8 turnovers.

I'd prefer 0-0 with 73 turnovers, but that might be a bit unrealistic.
