ttun News (2016 version)

a knee brace would have done nothing to stop that injury. When the other player puts their shoulder right into your knee there's not much you can do. It's shitty kids are coached to go low on people. Rumor is the damage may be career ending on Newsome.

What's really shitty is to assume that kids are coached to do that without any evidence to that effect whatsoever

If you think kids always play as they're coached, by all means post more. Laughing at that kind of stupidity is what the internet was made for

Well, actually it was made to be a robust and highly redundant communications platform that would be highly resistant to all forms of attack. But laughing at indignant ignorance is fun too

There are plenty of HS coaches (and younger than that) out there that teach to go low. It's not an illegal hit, but it can be a career ender. Newsome pulls on that play and he's one on one with a much smaller CB, the CB knows he isn't going to shed the block so he goes low to take him out for the next guy to make the tackle. If you don't know a lot coaches teach that then you're just being obtuse. They aren't teaching it to maim or injure, but it's still a dangerous play. As Newsome will attest too.

Hope he recovers and can play again.
