Lets not gloss over such luminaries as Suga Shane, Justin Turner, Dymonte Thomas, Kyle Kalis, Darryl Stonum, and Will Campbell... all who were going to be superstars and ranged anywhere from non-descript role-players to outright [Mark May] shows on the field.

Speaking of shenanigans...anybody know what happened to the Beav? @jwinslow

The S & M take: evil media and "when in Rome".

Re: Saban pulls Scholarship

its hilarious... the SEC has been pulling this crap for years and they never get hammered in the press for it... Harbaugh gets a slew of it, deriding the practice and lamenting how these kids' lives were ruined (Swenson verballing to OK and Weaver having a slew of choices including PSU and Pitt BTW). the hypocrisy of the media is pretty astonishing...

If it's not breaking any rules, then I don't know how it's wrong to recruit this way. Yeah, it looks bad but is it wrong? IMO, it's not. Now, am I going to lie and say that I felt the same way before Harbaugh started doing things like this? Nope. But I also didn't realize how antiquated our recruiting has been...

Going to get dinged for saying this, but when you stand back and take a look, the remarkable thing that stands out is how even the rivalry has been over 100 years - a difference of 8 games.
Compare to Alabama - Auburn 43 - 30 -1, ND - USC 46 - 36 - 5, Texas - aTm 69 - 37 - 5
At one point recently, if you took away the 13 or so games that Michigan started the streak with because they were an established football team and Ohio State was new, it was exactly even. It's likely flipped in our favor since then. I don't usually like to pick a random point in time and say "we're X-X vs Michigan since 19whenever".....but those first games were the equivalent of a pro team playing against a high school. I have no problem ignoring those games until we got on the same footing as them.

It has ebbed and flowed; Michigan dominant early, OSU charged in the 50's and 60's, even in the 70's for ten year war, Michigan dominant in 80's and 90's, OSU dominant since 2000.

I have no problem ignoring games up until it even remotely resembles what we know today.

Forward pass in 1906.
Shape of the ball (aka not a rugby ball) in the 20's.
Eligible receivers downfield (no linemen) in 1951.

And so on...

Those are all fine I suppose. But mostly noise. I mean really, what have you done for me lately?

Oh. We won. Another year of bragging rights. Kthx.
