Welcome: Irish Fans (Merged)

purdont put up 28. byu 23. stanford 31. msu 31. heck pitt even managed 21.
I like our chances to beat 28. but anything can happen in a bowl game, and turnovers could tilt the scales in your favor.

I honestly think that if you guys score 28+, you'll win. Our offense won't be as good as it has been all year, because we're playing, quite possibly, the best defense in the country.

Intangibles:
Giving Weis a month to prepare, that's a huge intangible. ND gets this one.

My prediction:
PK (for all you non-betters, that means pick ;P)

I am not saying that I agree, but if I did I would say you are only half right. IMO there is no better staff in D1 than tOSU coaches at making halftime adjustments. So if you did have an advantage, it might be for only the first half.

I guess it says something of this site's increasing visibility, that we are getting so many Irish visitors so soon after the bowl announcement.

...luckily, we've had good ones so far. Thanks for stopping by and good luck in the game (but hopefully not TOO good) .

There's no way a pocket QB with no mobility can beat this defense. No matter how good he is. You need a QB with feet and arm to keep the Linebackers honest.

Drew Tate, Drew Stanton, Brett Basanez, and Chad Henne are all All-America caliber QBs who got stifled by this defense. Brady Quinn will be no different.

The QB's who beat OSU this year were dual threats in Michael Robinson & Vince Young.

sloopy, quinn has plenty of mobility, much like stanton who wasn't exactly contained all day (we won the game, but even with 12 sacks he never turned the ball over and put up good numbers). he is mobile enough to beat our defense some of the time... but I only see that being enough if ND could slow down OSU's offense, which I do not believe they can.

Robinson did not beat OSU (in fact other than the lack of turnovers, it was nowhere near the best opposing QB performance), the PSU defense did. He only scored 10 points. The defense basically scored the other 7.

Just hope you Irish fans all know that us Buckeye fans have been waiting for this for 9 years.
I don't know how you call feel. Not sure if playing Ohio State is something special or not to you guys. But I personally feel that these two teams should play more often.
The fact that we've only played 4 times in history makes this game huge. The fact that it is a BCS bowl makes it EVEN BIGGER!
Ohio State vs. Notre Dame didn't think I was going to be saying that anytime soon.
This will be a great month.

IIRC, Quinn was a third option behind Zwick and Smith. Had Quinn commited to tOSU first, would Smith have been added as well, who knows.

However, what matters is we're quite happy with Troy and we wouldn't want him for anyone else !

Hello OSU fans! I have browsed a bit here, and had no idea that so many polite, knowledgeable, and friendly Buckeye fans existed! I am pleasantly surprised, and look forward to a lot of great discussions on our impending matchup.

As for 28 points, I feel the opposite, if it is a shootout, I have to favor us and our 38+ points per game. If it becomes a defensive showdown, then we are vulnerable.

Good Luck, and GO IRISH!

Don't forget, BCS bowl victory aside, the two teams are also competing for all-time series supremacy. Whoever wins will be 3-2 over the other!

Welcome to all the Domers. I think you will find this site to be the best out there, as evidenced by how many non-buckeyes stick around after our games are over. This is going to be a great match up. I've been waiting for this for 10 years...

...I'm sure there are a few people who would rather play another team other than Notre Dame in a bowl game, but that's for various personal reasons...Once Again, Congrats and Good Luck!

Thanks, imroc. Congratulations to Notre Dame on putting together its best season in a long time. Good luck to you as well. A strong Notre Dame, after so many years of weakness, would be good news for football in the Midwest.

Don't kid yourself, by the way, this is EXACTLY the bowl game we wanted. In fact, a few of us would rather have this one than a National Championship game.
