What are you currently watching on TV?

I've been watching a few of these shows:

The Hallmark Channel has 4 of them on in the afternoon and I tape them. That way you can watch them anytime and more importantly fast forward through the commercials. Since I didn't watch it much back in the 80s, it's like new programming.

So it appears that Messiah will not be back and there’s a good chance that Hunters will not be back for a second season.

With this and Mindhunters demise I’m to the point of why bother watching these shows if they’re going to leave me hanging after 1 of 2 seasons.

So, I finished The Irishman, and............meh. Yes, it's good, but it's not great. It's too long, too self-indulgent. It just felt like a greatest hits album rather than Who's Next or Rocket to Russia. It doesn't hold a candle to either Scorcese's best mob movies (Goodfellas, Casino, Mean Streets, Departed) or collaborations with Deniro (add Taxi Driver and Raging Bull to the gangster movies). It's not one of those movies like Goodfellas or The Godfather, that if I'm skimming what's on and see them will start watching at whatever point they might be at. I walk away from The Irishman, thinking "OK, but I'll never watch it again."

Finished the latest Shaft movie. As a film, it sucked. As 111 minutes of Samuel L Jackson turning his Samuel L Jackson dial to 11, it's a thing of beauty. It's like a Samuel L Jackson sundae made with Samuel L Jackson flavored ice cream and topped with whipped Samuel L Jackson and a Samuel L Jackson on top.

I felt the same way. They could have saved about an hour just cutting out all the scenes where the wives were standing on the side of the road smoking.

Stuck at home so long, seems like a good time to TV-travel the world (and eat vicariously) again with Anthony Bourdain... I found 2 seasons of No Reservations on Hulu, and another 2 of Parts Unknown on Spectrum on demand.

Not to start up a whole BBQ thing :pumpkin: but the episode of No Reservations where Bourdain goes to Kansas City with the Black Keys is mouth-wateringly awesome.
