Must admit, I see the pick of a loss to Purdue unusual. However, and having not really done my "upcoming season research" yet, they do return a crap load of yards on offense and have some vets on D. Interesting pick, there, RIB.

Yeah, I didn't see us losing to PSU, Wisky, or UM, and I don't see us going undefeated so I looked through the rest of the scgedule and realized Purdue has some good talent returning. I believe it's a nightgame so the atmosphere should be tough to play in, especially if we're undefeated at that point in the season.

Even if we should some how go undefeated, we will not even get a sniff of the MNC game for a couple years! That is how bad our national perception is.
But, in college football, the unexpected usually is the rule!
USC a sure thing? Just look at last year.
The SEC Champion guaranteed? Not necessarily!

OSU buildup fairly quiet, but a few wins will fix that

Three weeks from the start of fall practice, Ohio State football isn't generating much of a buzz.
Please don't misunderstand. We're using the theory of relativity here. A weak buzz about the football Buckeyes sounds like a chain saw at 10 paces compared with what's generated by other sports in these parts, and it is still a natural enemy to the eardrums of those who don't consider themselves OSU fans. But compared with the noise the Buckeyes have generated in recent years, pre-camp buildup seems downright serene.
Unless you're one of those optimistic types who fearlessly announce every season that "I really think they can win it all this year," it's not hard to figure out why the decibel level has dropped. With the exception of the thud heard around the world in the national title game against Florida, the 2006 team composed a beautiful, 12-week college football symphony.

i would have to say 11-2. a night game @ PSU, is always a challenge. big game atmosphere. Scum game i think is going to be a upset, Carr just cant figure Tressel's coaching theme out. Wis. could be a tough game also, but da Bucks will prevail!

not so worried about the QB. I think Todd will get the job. he has 3/4 years of experince and learning the system.

Wells, just needs to hang on to the ball. He has amazing talent.

Brandon Saines will be a big help if he learns the system fast enough.

The defense is going be be tough. Most of them returning, Moeller moved, and I really want to see what Robert Rose can do with some real playing time! Kids an anaimal

Coldwater High School just took a hit on their ability to teach basic grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and even basic communication skills. Not to mention nunchuck, computer hacking, etc....

I predict....

Vs. YSU: Win
Vs. Akron: Win
@ Washington: Win
Vs. Northwestern: Win
@ Minnesota: Win
@ Purdue: Win
Vs. Kent State: Win
Vs. Michigan State: Win
@ Penn State: Loss
Vs. Wisconsin: Win
Vs. Illinois: Win
@ Michigan: Loss

So 10-2, 2nd place finish behind Michigan. I think Chris Wells is going to be a stud who will control the clock, and my oh my that defense....

I think that 10-3 is what this team will end up being. The D will be awesome, but I think that this will be the year that Lloyd wins his second against Tressel. With Henne and Hart in their fourth year in the system, they'll have serious contention for the national championship. As much as it pains me, I don't like our chances in Ann Arbor this year (and I thought it very much sucked with the loss in 2003 @ Ann Arbor).

I think that we'll lose one of the PSU/Wisky games, and then have an "oops" game- the first "oops" since Northwestern in 2004. MSU under Dantonio could be that oops, or Purdue (or the early test at Washington). We'll head off to the Capital One Bowl, not bad for a "rebuilding" year.

So, either a 6-2 or 5-3 conference record. If Laurinitis comes back in 2008, however, we'll have a real good shot.

12-1, i say we lose to Purdue, that's it.

Purdue???

That seems to be coming WAAAAAAAYYYYYY out of left field....Purdue stinks!

The only 4 games OSU has a legit shot to lose are PSU, Wisc, Wash., scUM
and I see them winning 1 or 2 of those 4 for sure so either 11-2 or 10-3 will be our 2007 record
