Does anyone happen to know when the rules that narrowed the goalposts and eliminated the kicking tee were initiated? It would be more representative to compare kickers who played after this due to the increase in difficulty. Also, I'm surprised to not see Kaeding or the kicker from Minnesota (Nystrom?) a few years ago on that list posted...

Someone might want to go to NCAA.org and check it out because it just doesn't seem right. I clicked on D1A and 1AA records and thats what was under Kicking records but like I said earlier, I remember a kid from UCLA in the 80's who had some sick career numbers.

EDIT***************

ok, heres the link http://www.ncaa.org/library/records/football_records_book/2004/2004_d1_football_records.pdf

and here's the deal: UGA's Billy Bennet 2000-2003 kicked 87 career FG's

FG% career is Florida's Bobby Raymond 1983-1984 87.8%

Unfortunately Nuge can't catch either one. There are a ton of seperate records however and he might be able to do something with career fg% over 50 yds.

After doing some research, I found out that kicking tees for FG's and PAT's were eliminated in 1989 and the uprights were narrowed to their current width in 1991. Does anyone else think there should be some sort of separate record books Pre-1991 and Post-1991? Those changes are extremely significant. It would be interesting to see Nuge's stats compare to those after 1990 (both rule changes were in effect for the 1991 season)

Nah, there are about 8 million different records as it stands, they dont need anymore. Also if you do that then you have to start breaking it down to the non-tear away jersy records and the tear away records etc. A seasons a season and a FG's a FG.
