Who is your least favorite Buckeye of all time (not counting MoC)?

Robert Smith

1. In my opinion he is a hypocrite:

1990 - Played football his freshman year

1991 - An assistant coach wants me to ship classes to come to football practice. I'm just here for the education. I'm majoring in premed. I'm not playing football with that assistant coach here. Smith is given a track scholarship to stay in school and continue his education.

1992 - The assistant coach is now gone so Smith plays football again. And the guy that is just here for his education (and who does not have the grades for medical school) opts for the NFL draft with two years of college eligibility remaining.

2. Doesn't believe that sometimes it is better to just shut up when you don't know all the facts:

"Absolutely I think that (Clarett getting paid by boosters) happened," he said. "I believe that it's happened. But there's a difference between fans providing it or members of the university. There's a huge distinction. I don't believe members of the university provided for him."

ESPN - Booster money train at OSU - College Football
In my opinion, Robert Smith is one of the best things ever to happen to Ohio State athletics, and he gets a bad rap. For all the people who deride "Doctor Bob," where are the similar derisive comments about "Doctor Craig" (Krenzel)? Dare I suggest that racism may come into play?

Absolute worst: Art Schlichter. Just an abominable human being. The usual prohibitions relative to bashing Buckeye players just do not apply to this waste of oxygen.

I don't support the Robert Smith bashing but how do you draw a parallel between he and Krenzel other than both played football at OSU and didn't become doctors?

he's my pick. He didnt have to many friends on the team . Had an attitude like people were lucky to know him. One graduated for sure and Smith changed his major over to History A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO and not sure if he finished it off. I still love when Brent Musburger reported on TV that Smith was a DOCTOR after 6 years from high school graduation. I could go on but,,,,,,,:(

Well, that's pretty much the point, isn't it? Everyone bashes Robert because he didn't pursue the MD, but I never hear similar slams against Krenzel.

Clearly Smith has a high opinion of himself, but given his high level of collegiate and professional performance and all he has done for the university, I'd say it's warranted.

Every thing gets judged against MoC now so Smith's actions don't look so bad. At the time no one(the athletic department) could actually talk about it so there was much debate and finger pointing. There is no debating that Smith was "special". Wow! What a joy to watch him run! I have seen every
running back at OSU since 1968 and Smith was as good as any. Better than all but a few. I can't hold what he did against him.

I think I've been most appalled by Robert Reynolds actions. I just don't understand it. Even now.

No answer? I kind of expected that.

I've been bitten, choked, had my eyes gouged, and one guy tried to bite me, but I put my thumb in his eye.

I never choked someone, but to say I don't understand why one would do that is naive at best, and just plain ignorant at worst.
