It's easy to second guess, but it's interesting to see Chase Utley not bunt Randy Winn into scoring position with the top of the lineup coming up. Jeter's single would have knocked Winn in. Griffey ended up flying out to end the threat.

Peavy's out after 3 innings work. Looked very good today. Mike Timlin's in now for the U.S.

Pitching, unlike today's earlier game, dominated this one.

Dontrelle Willis is on the bump for the Americans tomorrow against the Canucks. Gametime is 4:00 EST.

Italy is pistol-whipping Austrailia 9-0 in the bottom of the 7th in Pool D play in Oralndo.

Canada and South Africa are deadlocked in a pitcher's duel 0-0 in the top of the 5th.
