Would you be happy with 12-1 in 2008 with a Title Game loss?

In 2008, would you take 12-1 with a loss in the NC Game.

Tressell-ball is nice, but we need to make a statement to the nation this year and just blowout every team we face!
Tresselball also won a title... while the aggressive higher octane offenses sputtered in January. OSU got too far away from Tresselball against florida imo... Pittman ran well. LSU was simply better overall.

There's also something to be said for the character and toughness developed during those nailbiters. However, the b10 also has to hold up their end of the bargain and provide those challenges.

Maybe not Buffalo then, but Minnesota Vikings........

On a serious vein, the B10 has taken a thumping by the press, as well as OSU for getting whacked by the SEC over the last two years, and the last nine games (0-9) against the SEC.

With the talent (and supposedly the leadership) in place, I cannot see any way that OSU does't play AND WIN, the BCS. If there is any little stumble, a close game, a loss to a lesser team, then the voters will take ANY reason and blow it up to eliminate OSU. I guess we're the Boise State (or WAC or MW team), that goes 13-0, but not in the championship.

That's my feeling from asking around, and reading the stuff on the web and newspapers. Very much an anti-B10 sentiment, and especially the B10. And I agree with the other posters, beating up on Michigan this year isn't going to make a dent with the current BCS voters. If OSU DOESN'T beat them by 45, then there's a question. (and we all know that no matter how low either team is that year, it's always a dogfight).

Not saying it's fair, just saying.......:gobucks3::gobucks4::banger:

1968-2002 is a long stretch if you a "championship or bust" sort of fan.........we had more than a few great teams fall short in that timeframe.......

personally, I would feel great to beat Michigan, win the Big Ten and go to the Rose or other BCS bowl every year..........a shot at the title is so elusive.....

The goal is to win an NC. If we don't the season is succesful most likely, but not the desired outcome. I expect an NC calibur team every year from Ohio State.

If we beat Mich, win the B10, and win the Rose Bowl I will be thoroughly satisfied.

If we do all that but killed in the Rose Bowl I will be upset.

If we don't win the Big 10 I'm going to go into a manic depressive state.

No way, National Championship or BUST. 76.61%

This gets back to what I was talking about earlier in another thread. Not so long ago, the goals were beat Michigan, win Big Ten, win Rose Bowl. Everyone knew someone would get voted "national champion" but it wasn't really something anyone talked about because it was just a vote at the end of the year.

The BCS, the "NC game", 24 hour sports talk and internet message boards have made it all about the "NC". Anything else is viewed as a failed season, as evidenced by this poll. It makes for a lot of disappointed fans, year in and year out.

Saturday sucked but we can still beat Michigan, win the Big Ten and win the Rose. It's not "NC", but it's not "bust" either. That would still be a damn fine season.
