WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion)

Will be surprised if he plays... I think it's time to tell Carlos... we're saddlin up partner.. and we're gonna enjoy the ride

Penn State has seen NO ONE like Carlos...

Ohio U, VA, Navy, Temple, Ill, NW, Iowa ain't Carlos Hyde

Did Weisman play Saturday? He's a pretty good back.

I agree though, they haven't faced anyone as powerful/quick/agile as Carlos.

Uh, yeah there is...it's because it's not a penalty as written. You start allowing refs to make up their own penalties on the fly and the game will never end.

It.
Already.
Happens.

That precedent was set when players have been called for unnecessary roughness for hits that do not violate the current rules but are (apparently) deemed to be 'too hard'.

you cant expect B1G officials to make that call.

The cynic in me says that if it had been an Ohio State player making the play Purdue would have had 15 yards added to the play.

Please re-read the rule. It clearly states that for it to be a horse collar tackle, the tackler must grab inside the back collar of the jersey or pads. This was not a horse collar tackle under any reasonable interpretation of the rule. The refs made tons of crap calls and no calls on Saturday, but this is not one of them.

I completely don't get all these "fans" who I have seen in various places today calling for Braxton to be replaced permanently by Guiton. I mean I understand getting caught up in the emotion of that victory, but come on. How many other W's do we have without Braxton, not many IMO.

Smh that was such a terrible job from the stripes on that play. Terrible terrible terrible.

i still cant believe there was no review of the play and that Urban didnt go crazy! They review every close play OSU makes it seems like and to not review that was criminal imo.

Second that! A guy I work with told me this morning that Guiton would win the job eventually because he's a better passer. :bonk:

Totally don't get it. Kenny did a great job, the way he stepped up and helped them win that game was incredible, but it was a team effort. The team rallied and gave the 110% effort that was needed to get that W. I still believe if Brax does not get hurt there, they take that ball the rest of the way down that field and get the TD.

While you can never tell...I agree. That was the first time Braxton had really gotten loose and it felt to me to be the play that he seems to make once a game to break the offense open.

Also, I didn't mean any offense to Guiton. His performance Saturday was clutch and he clearly is doing all the right things on and off the field. I'm glad we have him on the team...but if Braxton is healthy he's clearly on another level.

So, what does the head ref say when he makes to announcement to the crowd? "Not an actual penalty, but it was too hard, so 15 yards from the spot of the foul. Automatic first down." :roll1:
