WR Brian Robiskie (Official Thread)

Great Game Robo!

Robo looked incredible versus YSU. If Boeckman couldn't find a receiver in the progression, he would just go back to Robo and it was money more often than not.

He showed great hands and great routes. Great job Robo!

Go Bucks.

Robiskie helps QB find groove
Boeckman goes to him early, often in opening victory

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

For a couple of minutes yesterday, the Ohio State passing game seemed to be one big setup.

It went something like this: Brian Robiskie would run a route and quarterback Todd Boeckman would throw him the ball. Three straight times that happened on the Buckeyes' opening drive of the 2007 season.
"Oh, yeah, last night he slipped me a little bit of -- no," Boeckman said, laughing. "I just kind of read the defense and Brian made some great plays."
Unlike almost everyone else in the Ohio State receiving corps, Robiskie had proved himself the year before with big TD catchesagainst Penn State and Michigan. So it was no surprise to see first-time starter Boeckman look his way, at least early.

Whats sick about that list is that there are 3 Big10 guys inthe top 5. Slow and plodding Big10 huh?

Funny I don't see a certain players name on that list whom is supposed to be "the best WR in the nation."

Robiskie fills No. 1 billing

COLUMBUS -- After one game, Brian Robiskie is on pace for 1,836 yards on 108 catches. It might be too early to start projecting, but after Ohio State's 38-6 win over Youngstown State on Saturday, it's pretty easy to spot Todd Boeckman's favorite receiver.

Robiskie earned that right last year when he managed to catch 29 passes for 383 yards while surrounded by a litany of talent on offense. With all of those names gone, Robiskie has elevated himself to the status of No. 1 receiver.

Keep in mind 2 of them did it against D-1AA teams so lets not get carried away. :)

Robo had a great day, but it could have been better. He was wide open several times and Boeckman didn't see him. This kid is going to be awesome both in college and when he goes to the NFL. He's just so technically sound....it's fun to watch.

Robiskie fills role of go-to guy nicely in OSU?s opener

COLUMBUS -- Brian Robiskie wasn't going to declare he was Ohio State's top receiver this season. But his numbers speak louder than his words.

Robiskie did his best to help quarterback Todd Boeckman ease into the starting role in the Buckeyes' 38-6 win against Youngstown State on Saturday, catching nine passes for 153 yards. The yardage was the most by a Buckeye receiver since Ted Ginn Jr. had 167 yards in the Fiesta Bowl victory against Notre Dame in 2006.

Robiskie, a junior, said he expected play a much bigger role after Ginn and Anthony Gonzalez were first-round draft picks, but that Boeckman looked to him more often than the signal-caller indicated. "I've kind of prepared myself for it since Ted and Gonzo left," Robiskie said. "I've been kind of training my body and mentally preparing myself for that. I think that -- all the work I've put in -- helped me kind of prepare for it."

I'm not a big fan of him as our PR. I'd prefer Wells, Saine, or Small. He's not very shifty and doesn't have the acceleration of those 3 I mentioned. I won't write him off yet since he's only had one game but I think we have better options.
