WR Grant Schwartz (official thread)

Texas etc

In a joint decision between OSU staff and family, the consensus that since Grant is very well aware of what the shoe is like on game day is that we'd rather take an official visit when he could spend quality time with staff and host. When you consider the travel logistics and the team being occupied with the task at hand it doesn't make much sense for a player coming from Cal in our opinion. Especially, if he knows what it's like and what he wants. He'll make an official at a later date. Grant's first game is 9/9. He has worked hard and expects big things this season. I'll be sure and update everyone and Grant sure appreciates the interest and support. His cell phone began ringing early this morning. So he's excited about that:wink2: . Fingers crossed, we can get this whole thing done ASAP.

Best of luck to Grant this year I am hoping he does even better than last year and we will have to offer him. I am rooting for him big time and the rest of buckeye country is also. I know we will eventually have to offer him he is really everything we look for at OSU. Good grades, great kid, excellent athlete, and loves the bucks. Just focus on the team and the season and I am sure he will have a great season and get his offer.

RB07, You've got to see this Kid. He is the real deal. He can play anywhere on the field. I'm so excited for Grant this year. He was contacted today by several schools and I believe Ohio State was one of them. Grant is going to light it up this year. And like you i love him as a QB!

I've only seen offensive video of this kid, but I was very impressed with his athleticism, and I assume the competition he faces is pretty good.

When is Grant's first game of the season. Out here in Phoenix the high school season starts this weekend, so I'm wondering if it's the same there in SoCal. Thanks in advance.

First game for Grant is 9/9. Seems very late here in Ohio we started 8/26. Is it because of heat? Anyways yeah I do really like him at QB which is a good reason to take him on top of a DB. If the DB thing doesn't work out I already know he is quite the QB. He faces very tough competition. Same league as Mission Viejo is in out in Orange County.

Hey RB07OSU,

Thanks for your response. All the schools out here in Phoenix start late. I think it's due to the heat. I'm not even sure the season get underway tonight.

It's hard for me to believe Grant only has a single offer from CSU so far. He appears to be a pretty amazing playmaker. I can see where he could be an excellent college QB in the right system.

No problem. I am amazed that is his only offer as well. I just think he is going under the radar with all of that other talent in orange county right now. You got it right though in the proper system he could be a very effective QB in college. If we kept our ShotGinn formation I think that would be ideal for him if he would play QB.

update

Grant's Dana Hills team picked up a 24-0 win:) last night over El Dorado HS. Grant played well in the first half, throwing a TD pass and breaking off a 48 yard TD run that brought the hometown crowd to their feet. It was a truly impressive run giving DH a 17-0 lead at the half. He returned the opening kick-off of the 2nd half for 49 yards only to go down with cramps, was unable to return to the game until late in the 4th and only then for a few plays. 11 carries for 78 and a TD and 7-10-0 passing and a TD. Dana Hills starts 9 (7 juniors and a soph) players on offense that had never played varsity football before so a win in game one is real nice. It's not much different on defense as far as experience goes so a shutout is great. He saw limited time on defense last nite:( at corner.

Thanks Laguna,

Tell that coach to get him in on defense more. We (OSU fans) need some film of him at CB so we can let the Buckeyes' coaching staff know when to send out his official offer.LOL Thanks again, good luck to Grant and his team the rest of the season.

Go Bucks!!! In Tress We Trust.
