WR Ray Small (official thread)

Over Small?

Great kid. I hope he matures over the course of the next two years. But someone else needs to be returning punts right now.

Who would you suggest? I think Small is at least a little better than Harline or Robo at PR. In fact, I would like to see Small at PR and at KR instead of Wells.

I think we should put lamaar and ray back there to return punts, and same for kicks...mo wells just isnt a kreturner

I think JT is trying to paid dues to Mo, like he has paid to the program. He's been a respectable part of this team for 4 years. Hasn't complained, trouble free and goes 100%. The least he can do is let him return a few kicks here and there. Although I would like to see Lamaar and Ray. Or Lamaar and maybe Devon Torrence. All in all, ray is our best option at PR outside of Lamaar.

he caught it

Anyone who doesn't attempt to make a circus catch on a punt?

On balance he is the best mix of hands and return ability at the PR spot. He misjudged the descent of the punt but still caught the ball.

I actually trusted that he would make that catch when his hands went up and back for it.

Hey, I agree, he caught the ball. He didn't fumble it and/or let Penn State down it just short of the goal line.

He's the best punt returner on the roster. You can't be spoiled by having TG type returners every year. Small is a good pr. I'm really loving LT on the kr. I don't know if one relates to the other.

Small is clearly better on pr than the brians.

I'd like to see Lamaar Thomas get a shot at returnign punts too. :osu:

OSU suspends unhappy WR Small; father says dispute is 'personal' and transfer is likely

Buckeyes wide receiver Ray Small has seen a reduction in playing time over the second half of the season.COLUMBUS -- Ohio State junior receiver Ray Small has been suspended from the team indefinitely and Small's father, Ken, believes the suspension is another instance of coach Jim Tressel unfairly holding his son back.

"We see it as a family that they are intentionally blowing his whole career," Ken Small said Wednesday night. "Whatever it is, it's personal."

Small, who moved to the Columbus suburbs from Cleveland to support his son this season, said Ray came home Wednesday night and said, "I'm through," after being told of his suspension for what an OSU spokesperson said is repeated violations of team rules.

his dad sure sounds like a solid guy :shake: talk about being an enabler

"But then Small as demoted for the fourth game of the season against Troy, for what Ken Small said was almost being late for a meeting, along with another player. Small played once in that game, on an odd call in the fourth quarter, a reverse on third and long. Ken Small said Tressel did that to assure that Small could not red-shirt this season, because he was encouraging his son to think about faking an injury, receiving a medical red-shirt for playing in fewer than four games, and then having two years of eligibility left at another school. "

btw, that hot news icon should be changed to bad news, because it almost always is.
